@Filters, yeah you've seen it there too haha... The RB's are now fetching £6k+... There's only 2/3 on eBay now for example on the whole of the U.K! @MJRacing This one is up for £7k Ono as its been loved all its life with a huge folder of history and has some nice subtle added extras.

Ahhh I thought so chap, to be fair it looks like a very smart example!
I'd be keeping it if I were you, they're only going up in value at the moment.
Nice to see you're buying your old clio back though, many a car I wish I'd kept or bought back!

I would if I had the room matey, I have 3 other cars and a van at the moment so some need to go hahah.. Don't get me wrong it's a bloody quick car but it's just not my clio ... Plus for the Pembrokeshire roads the clio is just as quick as the Subaru

The plan was to go low boost with the engine from the berg once planted in to the MSA spec shell but...I've found a few faults with it now that have put me off a great amount. To the point I may well strip it for spares and start with a new engine/block.
I should of listened to Mr Potter and removed the cams + ecu from it when I had the chance 😢 Live and learn as they say.
That's a s**tter regarding the faults :( It's probably not worth risking more issues and further expense so - yeah - probably makes sense to strip useful spares from it. As for listening to Potter... apparently he's fairly clued up on these things. I wouldn't know... ;)

But, I might boost the cup instead. Maybe...which will be your fault.
I'll deny everything.

It was when doing the timing on the cup, I was contemplating it but wanted to save the bergs engine/cams for the build. I thought it would be worth risking as when she last ran, she ran fine, albeit using a little oil. Atleast we know why now I suppose. I may just drop it in and see how long it lasts.
Fair play to the busy man that is Mr potter, he's worked some wonders on the cup as @Fowlerboy7 found out when we bumped in to each other :car::car::policecar:😊

Any more news on how long until CBR is back on the road? Thing's going to go like a stabbed rat I can tell.

Ahhh that's understandable then bud, what others are in your possesion?
I can't say I've driven the roads around pembrokeshire much but these little clio's do give some subaru's a fair bit of stick. @MJRacing would make a suitable buyer if he does decide it's for him. Looks after his cars so quite well I'm sure you'd have the option of buying it back in good nick 😂 Seems to be a habbit for you.

Decisions, decisions mate... whatever route you choose I hope you're soon back on the road and enjoying it. The Cup sounds like a strong one (when running fine!)

No more details as to when Le CBR will be back on the road unfortunately. The engine is due to be collected shortly (if it hasn't been already) so that it can be put back into the car and the remainder of the loom, ECU and digital dash finished. Mike was looking to sort out a block adapter for the wiring loom to make engine swaps all the much easier. Once that has been done it has to be shipped back to Dan so he can pop the gearbox back in, fit the turbo, pipework, intercooler, new fuel system, new brake system, etc., etc. As you know yourself, he's absolutely snowed under with work so I'm not sure when he'll be able to schedule time to work on Le CBR.

She's a good one even with the injector fault. Finally got the right set on the way now, should have them by friday :relieved:

Fingers crossed you've got her back for CSF buddy, she's shaping up to be a proper weapon. I'm liking the idea of the block adaptor for the loom. From experience of getting the loom out of the old berg for my build, they're utter f*cking pigs 😂 Not looking forward to wiring it all up.
New brake system...I'm assuming you're going for a set of 4 pots then?

Definitely worth persevering with then mate! :) She should be purring nicely come the weekend (assuming the parts arrive and they haven't sent you more duffers!)

I'm hoping she's back in time mate, even if I can't use her in anger due to running in, etc. Fingers crossed! As for the wiring loom... well... that's why I'm more than happy for Mike to be doing his magic on it for me! I'll leave it to the experts :)

Mike will be hooking up my digital dash and ECU... (apologies for picture whoring). 4 EGT sensors (one per cylinder) along with oil pressure, temperature, etc. If the ECU detects issues the alarms will be displayed on the dash and the engine can be throttled back to, say, 3k rpm. If the problems persist the ECU can shut down the engine.

Yes, the new brake system comprises of 4-pot Brembos (300mm setup). I had these ready over a year ago and they're awaiting fitting (as soon as Le CBR makes it back to Dan). These are the bad boys...

20150713_brembos02.jpg

Then the revised fuelling system with new lines, fittings, swirl pot, etc...

Intercooler, pipework and turbo...

And the newly rebuilt gearbox (with LSD and working third gear!)

I have no words @SharkyUK .....give us a go? 😅😂

I spotted the fuelling system in the back of Dans pride and joy on one of my recent ventures down, looked like a serious bit of kit.
Nice...very nice. Again, envious 😅

Well... DU52 POH has come back home after 10months of being owned by someone else and my god.... i've missed her! last owner has looked after her well and has only added 3k miles on it in 10months, she now currently sits on 100k. From when I collected it this morning to the drive home which only took 20mins by the way it felt like I've never been away. Forgotten how well she pulls and handles as the last 12months I owned her she was tucked up in my double garage upgrading and refreshing things on the engine and suspension. I never got chance to drive it on the road after I fitted various parts due to the M.O.T and tax was expired. I put 12months M.O.T on for the new owner and he collected it the same day, only now after 10months I can appreciate the parts I fitted. Granted it needs a good cleaning session now but I have the biggest smile on my face to be back in ownership of her. She won't be hidden away this time around but will be used to full potential :)... will add some pics when I've cleaned her.

Evening guys, How's the weekend weather treating you all, have you been out cleaning your trusty stead's?.... I was wondering earlier, are there any meets coming up the next few months now we're out of the crappy winter weather!, Have re-owned the Clio for a whole week now and still have a stupid grin on my face everytime I look out into the driveway :)

There's one big meet planned for Blyton park chap, will be doing a few local ones after that. It's well worth having a look in to, certainly worth attending as last years was a blast and a half.
Main info can all be found here http://www.cliosport.net/threads/cliosport-festival-2016-book-tickets-now.784634/

I think it's more to do with less and less people have the time to join forums or if they do they use Facebook
Going down sjm on the 19th gonna have to just sit there bored for the day aswel -_-

That's what happened to my own club's website. Nobody can be bothered to use the forum now and prefer Facebook. Shame because Facebook is crap for a lot of the event organising stuff and you have no control over it like you do with a forum. It's pretty much killed off my club :(

When down at SJM just head over to Clarks Village and wander around the shops :)

I had wondered why your club had gone a little quiet recently Sharky, hope it picks up for you soon!
In all fairness @Ryan172 it's the same for all regions, a lot of users tend to stick to the main section of the forum, general chat and so on.

@Bug A wander around Clarks Village as suggested by Sharky is always a laugh, damn expensive shops though. Dan would probably be happy to drop you off over there in your car and pick you up when it's done if you asked him too. He's a good lad.

Thanks mate. Sadly I don't see it picking up. I tried using Facebook events to organise events last year (for Castle Combe Action Day) and it was a nightmare. Even folks from outside the club thought it was some sort of official page at one point and I had over 4000 people on it (my club had 140 members!) When Facebook deleted the event with no mention why I lost several months of organisational information and had loads of people contacting me asking why the event had been cancelled... which it hadn't! Too much hassle but people still insist on using Facebook because it's so easy for them. Sadly not so for the people trying to run a club / business through it :( Because I refuse to use Facebook for events I have no way of organising anything now as folks don't want to use the forum. So I don't organise anything and obviously it's dying. Shame but there's nothing I can do.

@SharkyUK what was your website?
Yeah well I'd probably walk there just to kill some more time but I haven't checked to see how far away it is yet but I'm sure I won't care if it takes 2 hours be better for me
@Filters Yeah he seemed tidy enough on the phone, my old man sorted it all out see because I gave up on it tbh and was looking to part ex it for something else and he was like it's a few hundred quid cheaper at sjm just go there and then get some new tyres and we'll do a drive somewhere... been trying to convince him to drive to monaco but he ain't up for it... too old for euro trips

I've removed a lot of content from the site mate. Due to lack of activity it wasn't worth my time keeping things new and updated hence I removed a fair chunk it.

@SharkyUK Yeah that's fair enough mate, it's a lot of work to manage a website anyway without having the nightmare of trying to keep it innovated to attract new members
I think with the likes of Facebook groups being so popular right now it's no wonder people have moved away from forums, I think we'll see a change in that in the next few years though all social media fads eventually die

I was hoping to make it down but the cars needing a few bits at the moment and I've a family gathering that weekend.
I'll try and get out of it but I can't see the car being ready by then as the only time Dan has to do it is after FCS.
Gutted.

Your welcome to come down with me mate if my house mate doesn't come (all depending on work he's self employed so doesn't turn down work)
If not you'd probably be able to jump in my mates 197 if he's off down solo which I think he is
