Yorkshire & NW Rivington/Hollingworth Meet Pictures

Re: NW Rivington/Hollingworth Meet Pictures

Cool, so would be around £100 all in if you don't know a tyre person at a gues. Might have to look into that...

Cheers, glad you liked the route:). Plenty more good roads in the area...

theres some crackin roads away from the pub. the road over the edge is ok if its a nice clear day., but you can link it up to about another 50+ miles of moorland roads too.

tbh i would have thought that sandbrook park would have been a better place to meet than the whitehouse, maccy dees, massive car parks, and would have been bit more sheltered, and also only 2 mins away from the ind est. i did point it out to a couple by pms. would have been good to have had a complete run over the edge, or drop down just past the pub into mytholmroyd, into hebden bridge then over to either burnley or keighley.

good meet tho...will have to get the bodies on the track car for next meet, n might stand a bit more of a chance against jesus' wee beasty...........but then........hel have moved the game on a bit more by then lol. least the willy still held its own ;)

The road down to mytholmroyd is superb I know it well as is past and down in to Ripponden:cool:. Loads of other great roads in the area... The original plan for the mini meet was to go from Huddersfield over the tops to the pub for a break then head back over the moors again.
Had the weather been nice like last weekend I think it would've worked well my self. I think trying to manage that many cars over the moors would be difficult though.

no mate not through ripponden. down scout road, next left after the pub. down there into 'royd, then could go over tops to halifax, over tops again into keighley, then back over diff moors rd to hebden bridge then over tops to burnley, then back over tops again bringin u into rochdale.

tis a gd run. i organised 1 for the williams clio lads, but had to navigate as my inferior kent cams destroyed themselves.....errrrr toying with a v6 alfa on the m65 hehe.

*edit*

That was you are you saying?

Crag road the one into mytholmroyd is epic tbh (also the longest continual uphill in the country apparently). I've had a play with a few nice cars up there. I use it loads because I go Mountain biking a lot in Hebdon/Todmodon and the area.
The run you mention also sounds good and I would come but might be to long for some of the Yorkshire lot.

Ah right cool. Always nice to see a Williams on the road. Your join date is old school just like your car then:).
We should do another meet in the same area when the weather is better. Its a good half way area for Yorkshire/Lancashire.

Just sent Gaz a text about doing something similar, mainly so we can practice panning shots, but like you say it's a good middle ground. Would definitely have to reconsider the NW convoy tactics though!

You had the same Willy for that long?

lol....yes mate.

and 1 or 2 others in between ;)

actual join date of this site would have been before then tho, i had my valver when i signed up to this site from RSC and the Yahoo list before that

Some good roads but as you saw getting 40-50 cars to follow is 1 hell of a task so going for drives in such big convoys over tops may not be a good idea. Could work on smaller meets but then the 1.2s would get left for dust :dapprove:.

Ian could send me the pics anyway please mate through an email or pm if possible.

wouldnt be too bad tbh mate....as they are all roads that u get on, and then follow to the end, so waiting up for evryone near the end before linking up to the next one isnt too bad if u know what i mean.

hardest bit would be going from the end of 1, to the beginning of the other road, which in fairness they are pretty close to each other, maybe 1 left/1 right turn between.

think we had bout 20 cars ish last time we did it, 1 or 2 got lost in the confusion on the mway, but was all gd n they soon caught us up

Might work then pal with it being on on the top and without traffic lights. Might be worth somebody organising one when the weather gets abit better.

Cnt believe how many turned up in the end. Cracking day :D

  williams and trophy
was amazin to see that many clios in convoy. its been a while since iv seen that many tbh. will have to get some of the other old skoolers involved next time, altho i fear some of them may end up embarrassing us lol.

if u want me to sort a run out.....its no bother. i know the roads round here very well, well most of em. and could link a good 50 miles + together quite easily.

How the frig did you get those photos with that camera?! Lol, they came out well dude.. except for the one with me in it, that should be burnt! Like the shot of us pulled up at the side of the road, one of numerous occasions! Good to see you again mate.
