New Thread...New Sledge

So i have the clio, which is fast turning into something that cannot be used daily, it has slowly gone this way and i want to take it further. I think it could still be used easily as a daily but the opportunity came up so i took it.

I will very shortly be the owner of an S reg, VW Passat 1.8 petrol in forest green, perfect for a daily, comfy, large and very different from the clio, tbh i can't wait at all...of course with the job that i am in and the company that i keep in the office means the car won't be staying standard for that long i doubt.

how about some inspirational pics to influence me....passat's, bora's a4's etc

I think I have just bought a Bora for the wife as a daily. We can be VW bum buddies...

Wasn't you tempted by a derv mate? Surely the 1.8 will be as bad on fuel as your powered by fairy dust clio?

Can't stand the euro look, avoid like the plague.
That Bora is sexy I must say!

Ben did you buy those wheels new? Are they 17 or 18?

They're 18's - yeah I bought them from someone local, tyres are expensive mind!

Um the coilovers are pretty harsh, they are ok when driving round town but when your doing 60+ they get really crashy...its worth it though as they are pretty damn high as standard

You had much interest in the bora youve got for sale?

Are they cheap coilovers?

I want coilovers but its going to be the wifes car so I can't have crashy!

Yeah theyre Jamex so pretty cheap ones, bought and fitted in yeovil for about £350

They are pretty crashy, springs are meant to be better for comfort i think

It still handles like a boat though, taking it to the ring in July so they could be interesting! lol

I'm thinking keep the original wheel/tyre combo for a bit of comfort with their bouncy sidewalls, and coilovers for a bit of a drop.

hmmmmm.

Cheers for your input dude. :D

Slammed or gtfo.

I want a Bora ffs, they are such nice cars! Loved my dad's years ago. Wouldn't mind one at all!

had the 2.5 v6 tdi. Great on mway, cruised around all day without ease. Great place to be. A tad boring at times and handling was mediocre at best.

Cant be argued for touring around in, but I did 20k in one in 6months and eventually the mundaneness was too much so I sold it.

Build quality was great though

That grey Passat is my mates. Had the TH lines on it, then had some RH's, and now has some Merc Alpards :)
