Tesco Alloy Wheel Cleaner-500ml for £1.47. Removes all brake dust and chain lube fling from my bikes, and is perfect on car alloys. Big thumbs up!

    Front Wheel Bearings-Easy DIY Task?

The wifes 1.9D o/s front wheel bearing has just started to make a noise-well, I suspect this is what it is-it is making a "thrumming" noise when going over 50mph. A search on here reveals the same noise indicates a bearing on the way out. But how easy is it to change? Only do motorbike...

    Group Buy@Hayward&Scott(Custom Exhaust)

Had one built for my Saab Turbo about 3 years ago (downpipe back) Instant power increase, and wonderful sound, nice and rumbly through town at low revs, but wailed like a banshee when revving it hard. Turbo lag eliminated completely. Absolutely beautifully made, with some real expertise. Plus...

    Best Place for Car Insurance

Axa Direct prove very cheap for me (my last Saab was heavily modified and was still under £250 per year). But then Im an old git, with loads of NCB and a rural post code.

    Mk ! Turbine wheel Problem

Rang John Pease, had them in stock and paid £17.11 inc VAT for them. Whilst there I asked about the price of exact replacements for those fitted-after a 5 minute search, he found the part number and price---wait for it--- £92.00 plus VAT!!! So thanks for the part number for the shorter bolts.

Got my speeding fine through : (

Personally, i think you were lucky with three points and a £60 fine, as 50% over the limit. I travel the A12 from Redbridge Blackwall Tunnel daily, and it was a 50 and 40 mph road with a number of cameras. Then, one Sunday, they just changed a number of the 50 limits to 40. No warning, just a...

How to Tell Caliper Brands Apart

How do you differentiate between a Girling, Bendix and Lucas brake caliper? My front o/s one has a displaced dust seal, which has done the piston no favours. There appears to be no marking on the calliper to state which brand it is I have a Mk 1 1.9 diesel and have been offered a pair of Lucas...

    Bigger Wheels-Changed Speedo Readings

Old wheels & tyres were 155/80/13. New wheels & tyres 185/55/15. They fit fine, with no clearance probelms, even with hard cornering-feels much more sure footed now. But how far out will the speedo/odometer be now? Any way to calculate the difference (and maths is not my strong point!).

    Bigger Wheels-Changed Speedo Readings

Just replaced the standard 13-inch wheels on my ’94 car with 15 inch Turbine’s. The looks have improved immensely. Didn’t realise how much bigger they would be over the 13’s (when I replaced the 15’s on my Saab with 17’s, the diameter stayed the same), but they do not appear to rub or touch...

    How often do you polish

Best cleaning tip I was ever given? Rinse the car with rainwater. I hate leathering a car down, and our black Audi was always covered in watermarks. But two watering cans of rainwater from the water butt poured over it after the hosepipe rinse keeps it clear of "white spot" problems. The Audi...

    Mk ! Turbine wheel Problem

Thats the fella-now, can I buy one of these? Or can I buy a new key with matching securing bolts?

    Mk ! Turbine wheel Problem

I think they are all different, although it was dark when I picked them up last night. The key looks like it is one of those with an arrangement of "pins" on it which fit the holes in the "nut", if you get my drift. Will try the dealer tomorrow if I get a chance-maybe get a new set iof they...

    Mk ! Turbine wheel Problem

I have just bought a set of immaculate Mk 1 Turbine alloys, including the centre caps. Only problem is that the “key” to remove the centres has been lost. Any ideas on how to remove the centres and refit them (without causing any damage? Will a Renault dealer be able to help (john Pease at...
