just a thought , if when changing the cam belt on a 172 , the timing wasnt set correctly , just say one tooth out what would the results be ,would the engine run , would it misfire, just curious.

I have just fitted a momo steering wheel ,and as you would expect the air bag warning light and service light has come on , does any one know if the fault code reader that ktec sell can be used to turn them off.

the pulley was just over £100 , the switch was £83 , with labour and club discount it was £506 , my car had only had the cambelt changed 3000 miles ago so belt and tensioner were ok.

I want to fit phase 2 lights to my ph1 172 , tried swapping over the lights from my wifes 182 but the wiring is diferent in the 6 pin plugs , whats the easiest way to sort this.

recently bought an odessey blue ph1 172, with only 48950 miles on clock, cam belt had been changed at 45200 miles , but i discovered that the vvt pully was worn and it was rattling like a diesel on tick over. i rang around and ktec quoted the best price, problem was i live 205 miles from ktec...

can anyone tell me what the dephaser pully is and what does it do , and why could it make my 172 sound like a diesel on tickover when warm.

no not really , ive had cars before where hydrolic tappets have gone and it isnt a harsh sound like when the cams worn ,its just noiser than my other car , the rev counter is only showing just over 500 rpm , as it idles and the 182 is showing 800 rpm
