Well i must say what a thoroughly entertaining read all round, the story is just amazing and the comments to follow equally as grand..

WOW, Holy sweet jesus and well truly outstanding... All round in planning, expertise, craftsmanship and end product.. Sure shows why the rozzers in Essex need exige's :)
Now from this amazing photo that ive managed to ruin with my little paint adventure, i presume all the highlighted parts are the correct ones as would be needed to be replaced after a pump failure, along with the obvious aux belt as well..
Now with this i would also presume it to be the case...
Well could well be much worse news, to be fair.. And new aux belt and pump isn't the end if the world..
It is definitely doing as what a few have mentioned by sounding like a dephaser going and as soon as water temp starts to rise its seeping down by the pulleys on the driver side..

On the back of this thread, last night the water pump just gave up on mine and would not hold any water what so ever..
got all towed back in the late hours of this morning, and been out to have a look at it today but can't quite figure out how the whole assembly for the water pump and the Aux...
Lets say he wasnt far off this for a good 5 miles (straight road/not the best surface though) as i was erm how to put it exceeding the NSL some what and wasnt anywhere near..
Edit Not big not clever, just facts.. saying that a clio at 170 would be a good run to boot..
