I'd already had my cam belt and aux belt done then the dephaser went so i gave fred a ring, he said he could re-use the aux belt tensioner as it had only done 800miles. He said it would be £450, but if it did need a tensioner then worst case scenario (needing everything) £620 (don't quote me on...

On my old Golf Mk4 I had 18's on it and they ripped massive holes on the wheel arch lining and it passed 2 MOT's. Maybe I had a leanient tester I don't know but a pass is a pass! :cool:

Fred did my Dephaser, Cam belt and Aux Belt. He also picked up on a few other bits and sorted them for me too. Can't recommend him enough!

I'm thinking of removing mine, thought about filling and spraying but if it cracks, will look very pikey, keep checking the breakers for some cup covers, hard to come by tho unless you want to pay through the nose for them.

It's not MOT fail, mine haven't worked since I bought it and it passed on Friday, they are a legal requirement at point of manufacture, but after that there is no actual check on an MOT.

Yeh same happened on mine, you can align the catch I believe. I just put copper grease on it.... sorted.

Is the bonnet lever still tight when pulling it?

It's based on how you are driving the car, as above if you are sat idling it will go down, it will also go down rapidly if you thrash it. It will get more steady the more miles you do after the reset. Nothing to worry about.
