On my old Golf Mk4 I had 18's on it and they ripped massive holes on the wheel arch lining and it passed 2 MOT's. Maybe I had a leanient tester I don't know but a pass is a pass! :cool:
I'm thinking of removing mine, thought about filling and spraying but if it cracks, will look very pikey, keep checking the breakers for some cup covers, hard to come by tho unless you want to pay through the nose for them.
It's not MOT fail, mine haven't worked since I bought it and it passed on Friday, they are a legal requirement at point of manufacture, but after that there is no actual check on an MOT.

It's based on how you are driving the car, as above if you are sat idling it will go down, it will also go down rapidly if you thrash it. It will get more steady the more miles you do after the reset. Nothing to worry about.
