Now for cup spoiler.

Tailgate looked so plain without one, so my eBay searching paid off and got this one:

Very rough paintwork but never fitted.

Start with blocking to try and get it flat again:

Now primer:

Fitted and with all original fittings used and extra rust protection to the drilled holes.

That spoiler looks great mate. Can I ask how much as my mate has just got a 197 and it is desperate for a cup spoiler. Looks so much better with it!

I bought it new (other) from ebay for £160 delivered. Took a bit of work to get it flat again but worth it to save a few pounds.
I think you can get them for £200 at the moment from renaultpartsdirect with free delivery if you use there promo code. I will check for you.

@mossyv6 Nice thread and good work so far.

Im not sure if you still need one but i have a 200 gear knob sitting in a box in my shed. I changed it out for the metal one after about 3k miles and you are more than welcome to have it.

Done a bit on the interior today.

Rear seats - always seemed a bit boring so after purchasing my £20 bargain mint seats I thought I would try something different.

Before:

During modding - these inserts needed the bores widening to accept the new headrests:

Where they're located:

After - front headrests from original seats borrowed and there new homes:

Also started to strip the interior to replace the seats, front carpet, handbrake cable etc.

Standard yellow seats to be removed:

Seats, front carpet, handbrake lever, gearknob removed to be replaced - rest being cleaned.

Partially stripped cabin:

Reason for carpet removal - another ciggie burn!! Now bin fodder:

More bin fodder:

Handbrake levers - one good, one bad:

Hopefully get more done tomorrow :)

That's a nice touch with the rear headrests mate! Looks the part that.

Thanks mate, thought it was a nice subtle touch and will tie in well with the renault sport emblem on the front Recaros.

Also done it so the original seats can be put back together - as the only thing that I modded was the black tubes and I still have the originals.

Sounds like a win win then to me mate! I might even steal the idea and use it on mine! Lol!

Hello matey, good to talking to you the other night and thanks for the kind comments :) Funny you should say that about the calipers as mine all need redoing as the red powder coat is flaking off - I was thinking about stripping them all, sanding blasting, powder coating and rebuilding with a rebuild kit. Oh and new decals of course.

Top dash display surround has 2 big scratches in it. I have bought 2 second hand ones - one didn't fit and the other had scratches on it also. So thought I would have a go at painting it instead of buying new.

f**king awesome work on this, them rear head rests top it off for me, very nice.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks buddy. Rear headrests courtesy of my original seats and £20 eBay rear seats so had nothing to lose and totally reversible and still fully adjustable.

The seats are such a huuuuge improvement, so much better than what was in there before......... agreed with the yellow dash parts, they defo need to be more subtle. Great stuff

Display surround looks good painted but might be a pain reflecting on the windscreen when the weather brightens up some.
All in all though the car is massively improved, as expected! When does the engine work start?

Thanks buddy and never thought of that 😧 I might be buying a new one after all, lol.

Engine work is hopefully start of February - donor car should be here tomorrow
