Clio turbo misfire/running rich

  RB Clio 182
I remember savvy having issues at fcs the one year in his ly shed a hose was split off the pump
Cheers mate ill check this too.

Could it be internal? Theres no blue smoke and no loss of oil, but it sounds tickier and a bit louder around the inlet area, or could this be a sign of a faulty injector?

Has anyone got a set of the blue meg 225 inectors for sale?

Injectors tick anyway bud. Timing could of jumped a tooth that creates a miss / s**t running

I think you hearing more noise is down to it not running right mind things always seem worse

who's your nearest specialist? whoever they are i'd contact them and explain your situation with the car waiting to be sold, im sure they would help/sort you out, check all pipework for leaks is where i would start, i'd also have someone with a multimeter check the injectors/ fuel pump and relays, could be something daft like a breakdown in the wiring

Fitted the map sensor, no difference, still got the lambda to fit, when i get some daylight in my life.

Its blowing plumes of black smoke out, it looks quite cool, but my car is running like a spider with 3 legs on hot coals.

I need to do another log for Scoff too as he said i was reving the car too much on the last one.

Just been thinking, when my car was mapped, i think the thermostat or cts was faulty, since then i have replaced them both, could this cause it to overfuel, now it has new parts fitted?

chris would of picked up on it if they were. without seeing or hearing the car i'd say injector/injectors.
Another thing that i noticed, on the way home from work Friday, i noticed that the imobiliser light(near gear leaver) was permanently on red, i think it flashed up while on the journey, could there be an electrical/ecu problem? It hasnt done this before.

got to say pass on that one? where are you and do you use the car every day?

Im near pontefract mate and yes its my daily but i have been using the other car for work but its not ideal as the other half needs it to take the kids to school etc.

I took the injectors out earlier and put some cardboard under to see the spray patterns, but the one nearest the cambelt end popped out of the fuel rail, and the others left no spray at all, i only turned it over for a second, the car actually started lol.

When i took the fuel rail off, two injectors were left in the lower inlet and two came out in the rail, are they meant to be so loose?

I put them all back in the rail before fitting back on the inlet, but they dont seem to pop in the inlet far enough, and the wont go any further due to where the rail bolts back on.

So i have this lambda to fit, then i can only think of the fuel pump or injectors, im hoping its nothing internal, but surely it would be blue smoke and not black.

Im going to take it up to efi for chris to have a look for me, the parts cannon is running low on parts to check lol.

I have also noticed that on the adaptronic ecu, theres a blue light that ive always noticed, but now theres a yellow light on the box thats flashing, i cant recall seing this before.

I have also noticed that on the adaptronic ecu,

The injectors should be held in the fuel rail with clips.
@Davyy could have you that.

Does this adaptronic ecu mean you cannot read the fault codes as normal?

Have you removed the turbo to throttle body boost hose and checked its not covered in oil. Possible blown turbo if is I`m afraid.

Also is there a one way valve in the crankcase breather hose to prevent pressurising the bottom of the engine on boost?

Do they not have the clips on??

The injectors have the clips but they are a bit s**t, lol at davyy

Iirc the oem ecu might store fault codes but the adaptronic controls the fuel and spark etc, i remember andy at clioturbo telling me this when i read some fault codes on the oem ecu when i first had the conversion done.

The only thing the oem ecu controls is the clocks on the dash iirc.

I have removed all hoses to check for oil and they are all as clean as a whistle.

The crankcase breather just has a pipe coming off it with no restrictions to let it breathe, i was going to fit an oil catch tank at some point but now im selling the car im not going to bother.

the injectors should be clipped to the rail, you don't need the clips there but it keeps them on the rail when you pull it off.

unplug coilpack and then see how they are on cranking. all this really does is tell you that they can fire and and give an idea on spray pattern. doesn't mean they are fine.

pop them all out again, off the rail as well, check the o rings are ok. try and get some rubber grease, thin smear over all the o rings and then injectors back in the rail and then refit the rail.

if you can get a multimeter check resistance on them, should be about 16 ohms.

Cheers bloke, ill give it another go tomorrow, i forgot to unplug the coil pack earlier and the car started haha.

Tuned cars are w**k!

Im wanting a standard 1*2 so if anyone wants mine for their 1*2 and cash my way give me a pm, ill knock a grand off the asking price of my car too with this running problem it has!

i'd check if there is anyone local who can do a proper test on the injectors. only takes five minutes. i know chris has a tester but that would mean having to sent them to him. or can you mooch a set of injectors of someone to try?

i had a high boost clio with pretty much brand new injectors on and one was faulty, resistance ok, pulse and voltage etc ok was only when we tried running it on gas with no injectors and plugging one at a time in that we found it.

Cheers pal, ill take it to the local garage tomorrow and ask them to test them, they are ok but bloody expensive, they work from home, he thinks he knows everything about everything

Ill let you know how i get on.

I could send the down to @dann2707, im sure he could sort them for me? Ill pay obs.

I was originally selling to free up some money and get a cheap 1*2 to use as a daily, my turbo is pristine and very quick its brilliant, but i even rent a council garage to keep it in because im so worried about it getting scratched etc, the car was up for sale before this rich running, its not for sale just because of this, but i wanted to sort it before i sell it, i want something cheap and cheerful that i dont mind when i curb a wheel or two.

Sent Chris the log, he said everything looks fine ecu related, so im booking a slot to go see him to see if he can diagnose a wiring problem etc.

Im waiting on a reply to see which day but he told me it would be the beginning of Feb so not too long really.

not sure how the standard ones would run, wouldn't be right but it could rule out or confirm if it is an injector issue.
