For some reason I thought I was already following this thread. Love a Petrol Blue.

Top effort on everything so far, good to see you haven't given up on it with the set backs you've had.

Brands Hatch Prep #2.

Picked up the wheel after my mate had swapped it back round to the correct way last night. Then this morning got to work swapping the Brake's back over and fitting the new Alternator.

New parts :)

And this is how she looks on the track wheels. They look better than i was expecting, i think the Brembos being the 300mm discs help out a lot with the looks. It wouldn't be my first choice of wheel TBH. Still running the 5mm spacer up front, the wheel weights are very close to the callipers again but hopefully they should be ok. If not il have to shave them down a little. Need too bed the pads in tomorrow and its all set :)

Il get some better pictures tomorrow.

Brands Hatch.

Headed out early Monday morning to beat the traffic. Got to the circuit about 7.00 Sign on was 7.30, Noise test 8.00, briefing 8.40. All ran smoothly and by 9.00 we were out on our 2 sighting laps. The day was organised by 'Open Track'. Was all very well timed and really focused on getting as much running in a possible. There were garages available which i wish now id of booked. The weather was superb but still would of been nice to be set up with everything in a garage.

Went out for my first time at Brands. Followed a few other cars round as best i could and quite quickly picked up the correct lines other than round Clearways. Pulled in and gave the car a check. Got on the group chat and @TimR26 gave some advice on how to take a decent line through. Another couple of quick 15min sessions and i had it sussed :) Not the fastest out there but defiantly not the slowest.

Did around 6 sessions before lunch. Lunch was called early after some poor chap binned it at Druids and lost a wheel coming back to the pits just before Surtees. I went past just as he had gone in at Druids and by the time i got back to the pits he was coming past with something making a terrible noise then.... PING his wheel came off 😊. Not many incidents on the day. A Ginetta went off on the approach to Clearways right infront of me and a caterham came off in the breaking zone for Paddock Hill and took out his suspension. After lunch i did another 4 sessions. Wanted to do some more but with a banging headache i decided to pack up around 3 and head for home.

Was a great day and really looking forward to the next one. Brands is such a good circuit. Its the first track iv been too with a decent change of gradient. Paddock Hill is great fun but for me the going through Surtees flat then a short firm hit of the brakes and through Mclaren and Clearways was the highlight of the day :)

Looks great! What tracks have you done? Id like to do Goodwood or Thruxton, mainly because they are nearby!

Brands
Goodwood
Castle Combe
Llandow

Brands is by far and away the best iv done. Goodwood is nice as its local but Brands is only an hour and a half away. When you planning on booking ? Goodwood is too expensive in the summer IMHO.

Glad you had a trouble free day at Brands, it's a very busy circuit with 25 or so cars on track. Last time I went I got an instructor to come out with me, helped massively.

I'm booked on Goodwood on 13 March, Thruxton on 6 April and Brands Indy evening session on 8 August - come join me!

Federal 595-RSr. There great. If kept in the right temp range and pressures there amazing. Iv had AD08-R in the past the and the 595 are better. Might not last as long but more grip too be had.

Keep an eye out for a cheap day at Goodwood. They do pop up from now and then but your still going to be paying £200+

Having the paint fully corrected a couple of weeks time. Some point last year i had go at polishing the car with a DA and messed up. No pictures of it but both side of the car are pretty bad in direct sunlight.

Also yesterday i swapped back to the DS2500 and Standard wheels. Going to attack the Brembos tomorrow with a file to knock off a little material so i an run the standard wheels with weights to balance them up.

A little picture i got the other night.

Paint has now been fully corrected from my novice attempts at polishing it 😊.
http://cliosport.net/threads/full-paint-correction-results-petrol-blue.808224/

Still some bits left to do on the paint. Loads of chips, couple of dents. As iv said before these will get sorted but not for a few years yet. Up next will be finding a mint front carpet and replacing the old one as it has a massive hole on the drivers side.

No real updates to speak of. Got another set of Turinis the other week to use as Track wheels. The standards are becoming too annoying to run without wheel weights now. Will get the other set of Turinis back on and get the new set a fresh set of Federal Rs-R's. Car passed its MOT this week also which means its been a Year since i got my car back for the first time from originally lunching the engine . One of the new (less than a year old) Shocks is leaking 😧 Will need to sort that out soon. Was going to be refreshing the suspension next year anyway.

Got Goodwood booked for November, don't think il be doing any other days though sadly.

Have been looking recently for somewhere to store the car over the coming Winter. If i can't find a garage somewhere it will go on my mates parents Drive under a cover ! Unless anyone knows of a spare space somewhere local :tonguewink:

Some pictures from the other day. Really don't like using FlickR now !!

The PB has now had a full Suspension refresh

New Shocks and Gram Racing Springs
PMS Top Mounts and Strut Brace
New ARB Inner and Outer Bushes
New Wishbone Bushes
New Track Rod Ends
New Ball Joints
172 Cup Wishbones

Had a go at doing it myself but after 3hrs just fitting a Wishbone i gave up ! Got Gary Spooner (The Clio Man) in Littlehampton to finish it off. He's done a great job and had it back the same day i dropped it off  No other pictures, but I'm sure you know what some shocks and Blue springs look like.

You guys were right !

A day after posting the above the Battery and STOP lights greeted me once again :rage: Surely not a 3rd Alternator ! Turned out the ring terminal had snapped off. Got @Fletcher round to help out and swapped it over. Had a slight issue with the replacement but worked around it and sorted.

A couple of days after that i got my 2nd set of Turinis back and had the Potenza's mounted back on and fitted.

Changed the Oil last weekend and swapped over to the DS11.1 and track wheels ready for Goodwood on the 13th. Looks like there is going to be a lot of seat time :)

Also started a little Vlog on Youtube. Not sure it actually qualifies as a Vlog as its not even 3mins long and i don't talk :tonguewink: Also it shows off the photos i took earlier today without FlickR destroying them :) Hope you enjoy.
