Can't believe the scum which are about to do stuff like this.

Hope you and family are ok and it doesn't knock you about too much.

Are you serious??

You're going to put a gunmans marksmans skill to the test with a dog with your partner and daughter about?

f**k the dog/car/stuff in the boot, its simply not worh it.

@Budgie , i believe you spoke too soon.

Didn't mean it quite like that sorry, was just saying that a dog could stop someone with a fake gun.
I agree with you though, I wouldn't take any chances in a situation like that; give them whatever they want so they go as quick as possible.

True. But it could also get someone with an actual gun, shooting. At a moving target. Whilst wearing a balaclava. In the owners vicinity.

f**k that.

Dogs are a good deterrent which ever way you look at it. whether its a yappy little jack Russell or a ridgeback like mine, they offer another angle that a burglar would have to engage as well as you.

Just read this. Some twisted folks around, these seem to get targeted a lot. Glad everyone was unharmed.

We had a string of burglaries up our road last year so I won't check our postcode. One was next door but one. I called it in as they were angle grinding the gate padlock. Loud as you like. No shame or respect for anything these plebs.

Can't imagine what you went through mate. It was bad enough when we were broke into for the keys to our type r. Thankfully they were in & out while we were sleeping.
Hopefully you get sorted financially but the main thing is you & the family are ok.

My favourite one was walking out of my front door a while back into the middle of a crime scene, blood everywhere, do not cross tape boxing me in and detectives taking photos. lol
Someone get stuck in your wheel arch?

:p

Realistically, what would the people involved in stealing this, likely to receive if all of them were caught? It's a risk/reward balance - and unfortunately the Police are limited to what maelstrom of s**t they can bestow on people who rob cars.

Not wanting to sound in anyway that these scroats helped out - but it sounds to my like they hung around for the opportune moment to attack and take the car from you. I think they would have waited and come back another day if your missus and young one had been in the car.

All round - just a complete and utter mountain of crap to deal with. It's simply not fair in 2017....

wouldn't they get charged with armed robbery?

If caught..

It would be Robbery, and a section 18 firearms offence (possession of a firearm to commit an indictable offence, i.e. robbery).

Sorry to hear this bud. Started to read this thread to hear about your car as I love the look of these. That's a massive shitter. Try not let it affect you too much though. Can't let them win!

These and 5 door m135i's, 335d's seem to be the prize pick for theives at the moment. Lots are stolen to use for burglarys/ robberies, or taken and shipped abroad. Fast, spacious and fairly inconspicuous.

Cheers mate. Yeah an M135i got down in the village along from mine a week after my Golf. Week before that, another Golf R and a Grey Focus ST got done too.

Buy a bright colour and you'll be golden. All of the stolen ones I've heard of have been dull colours (may not always work, but seems to be the rule).
