Nah but if it wasn't for me knowing the road like the back of my hand the dc5 would wipe the floor with the clio, 240hp N/A and one of the best handling FWD car I've driven anyhow.

Would love one if there wasn't so much Jap scene tax on them nowadays, dc2 s2000 and dc5 are all future potential buys for me.

Had the car sorted last week and it's such an epic improvement, had the shocks all set up, all just two clicks over halfway for now, camber set to -2 on front and rear lowered 10mm, sits so much nicer and handles awesome, given me even more confidence in it now, this and the brake pads have made the car so much more drivable for me.

But...

Fell out with the car again at weekend lol, grazed knuckles and a severely tested patience ... those who know will know why.

Will update with some pics, just need to service it and fit new federals this weekend and I'm ready for Oulton on 28th, should of booked one sooner in reality but means I've had plenty of time to sort everything that's needed doing.

Today's job, get tyres swapped over to the federals for Oulton next week

Also had a rather large sunstrip fitted cause it's a pain to drive ATM in low sunlight and it's cheaper than buying sunglasses lol ...

Big big thanks to @dablk for prioritising me on his wheel he had for sale, got a text off him literally a couple of hours ago and I sent a mate down and now got possibly the best mod I've ever done to one of these cars fitted, wow what a difference a smaller wheel makes [emoji7]

Did the oil and filter change yesterday too and noticed I've got a slight coolant leak from somewhere and I think it's the water pump so that's the next job, filled up with 4.8 litres of Shell Helix 5w40 oil and new Renault filter, should see me fine till later in the year. Also remembered to swap the bloody sump plug washer too on this one.

Epic day at Oulton Park today car really did me proud, just having a few issues with oil starvation it seemed round cascades and island bends, anyone else's have an issue?

I find 2nd gear for Shell and the chicanes a lot better too.

Especially up the hill out of the first chicane, the Clios lack the pulling power in 3rd.

Gotta say mate I kept trying both 2nd and 3rd and I agree, not got my best laps on camera as we was sharing between 3 cars but I did sort out my lines a lot in the afternoon, I was taking cascades and islands better and better throughout the day but as always there is always room for improvement, I kept toying with going round islands in 3rd and 4th but in the end I just stuck to 4th and it felt smoother so hopefully quicker.

only my second day there and tbh was a massive improvement over the pace I was doing in my old 172, I was somewhat disheartened the last time I was there so I'm still happy, I need improvement though I'll be the first to admit. Anglesey next for me I think [emoji106]

Yeah you're right about Island Bend, it's about 95-100mph so 3rd is no good really. Stay in 4th down Lakeside, quick dab of the brakes and then in and back on the power. Hard on the brakes for Shell, down into 3rd then 2nd.

Cars coming along nicely mate, just makes me want coilovers so bad as yours looks so much more planted around Oulton than mine. Car looks quick though, defo a good few seconds to be gained once you've got to grips with the track and new mods.

How are you finding the 1155s? as I need replacements for my RC8s which are total overkill for my set up.

What's the spec of the MPS? As it looked quick, sounded gash compared to yours but quick!

They genuinely made a world of difference this is a cup like but I took my standard 172 round there a few years ago and I didn't have much confidence but I had no worries at all yesterday,

the brakes were epic, I made the mistake of not changing the fluid so think fluid got hot as pedal went spongy but even with a spongy pedal I was pushing the car beyond my limit in terms of late braking so I'd rate them to anyone [emoji106] didn't fade much if at all. I was out for a good 15 laps in afternoon and nothing let me down so id class them as long lasting, plus there's still loads of material left on them.

MPS is standard mechanically bar a Recirc valve but has Michelin Cup tyres and BC remote res coilovers, if I didn't have traffic in way on both laps I dare say it wouldn't of been any quicker lapping than the clio though which surprised me

All they need is a mill or two grinding off the tabs, if you scroll back a page or two I put some pics on of me fitting [emoji106]

Yeah I took them out, wire brushed all loose rust and dust etc out then used high temp grease and they've not seized

Favourite pic from last week which a photographer messaged me through Facebook...

Car was in desperate need of a clean not been done for about 2 weeks so gave it a good clean off but as im off work I thought I'd take it out for a drive for once since it's not been used since Oulton Park last week.

Only cleaned it as I have two potential buyers coming to view next week but my god when it's clean it really puts second thoughts in my head. [emoji17]

Cheers bud agreed, needs a couple of niggles sorting but it's by far the best one I've had. I'm in two minds about putting interior trims back in don't know if it would be more appealing. Either way I'm not in a rush to sell and I don't want to drop money as it owes me a lot more than I've listed it at

I've been toying with idea for months now, few reasons really

a) it never gets used, does about 100 miles a month if that.

b) I want something more tunable, ideally an megane R26 or a 250 cup

c) I just fancy something newer while funds allow and while Im still with the parents lol.

And other than that I just get bored very quickly I'm at around 30 cars upto now and I've been driving 6 years
