The Cup is back

I've owned the car a couple of months now, the condition of it inside and out was very good when I bought it with the only downsides being the bonnet which had the classic front edge rust, half a dozen car park dings, some road rash on the front bumper and a couple of scrapes here and there on the wheels.

After using it for a couple of weeks to make sure there were no mechanical gremlins I sent it to the body shop. Rather than try and cut out and patch the bonnet rust I decided to get them to fit me a new bonnet (gen ren). A week later it's back, front end paint, dent man magic and wheels painted.

I've rotary polished the full car, I took the rear badges off to do a proper job. After deliberations I decided to keep the stripes, glad I did really. I put new striping on the bonnet and tailgate. The roof striping is perfect so I left it.

All in all I'm very very happy with the finish, the paintwork is stunning, not a mark or ding anywhere. The wheels look great, I had thought about putting some speedlines on but they look great standard.

I've just got to get a couple of new struts for the tailgate as it shuts a bit heavily. Also I'm getting the upper plenum, engine mount and fuel rail guard to vapour blast and decide what I'm doing with engine top cover.

All in all well pleased with the finished job

Looks very nice, always loved the RB with stripes. Still remember watching the top gear episode about it, back when I was only 7, and loving the car! Really love watching back that episode now I have one...

Me too. It's what got me interested in 182's. I've seen it a few times again on Dave too :smile:

See I said keep the stripes and it looks bloody great (for a smurf car). Are you going to keep it standard or go oem+ with a few subtle mods?

The Gordini Stripes on RB is a must, makes it. Looks a cracker does that.

Ooh nooo, the tailpipes are polished stainless, you can nearly see your face in them, nice finishing touch

Keeping it standard as possible, even more so if I can find a cup splitter anywhere around £100 !

I think he meant the bumper trim around the tailpipes.
