I like the way they always try to get the people to break down like in the states and they always just say something like 'yeah, cheers, looks good' and drive off.

This is a decent watch, the buyer is infinitely more bearable than Brewer.

I wish they wouldn't call it a turbo. It's grown to grate on me after the guys in work became adamant that the turbo was called a turbo Gordini and the gt turbo was called a turbo lol

Some of the Tim stuff is cringe, like dressing up with night vision for the wheel refurb. Always turn out lovely restos though. Although I couldn't help notice at the end the gt turbo badge was missing from the tail gate, odd. I used to lust after a tungsten grey turbo in 1990 .

Great episode, car looked amazing at the end.
Sadly it looks like you need a terminal illness these days in order to get you car restored, lucky b*stards!

I had a brand new E reg Tungsten Grey GTT as my company car in the late 80s. Loved it, but it cost me my licence in the end.
I have the program recorded - looking forward to watching it.

Lucky b*****d ! What job was that ?

yeah they are notoriously unreliable. mate had a white e plate. sat on the street for a year as he got sick of it breaking. clutch cables went all the time, he carried a spare in the car it got that bad. he sold it to a boy locally. 2 days after he sold it he drove past the boy and a mate pushiing the 5 along the street, lol.

Fair play to the dude for stock piling gen ren parts, that's the way to do it!
I thought it looked ace, shame (as mentioned in another thread) they forgot to put the GT Turbo badge back on the boot. It's a minor thing, so hopefully it has one now.

Who was the guy on here with the mintest grey one ever.
Used to have a really good thread on all the stuff he did too.

zonda, it was one of my old mates cars years ago (my old mate liked it so much he owned it twice) I've not seen the dude on here post about it for ages though :(

I always wanted a 5 GT Turbo but that ship has sailed now, unless I want to buy a shed of spare parts and build it from scratch myself... lol

Yup was the first hot hatch I went in when I was a teenager and just fell in love with them... fast forward 10 years when I finally bought one and Jesus what an absolute pile of s**t lol. Don't get me wrong, I'd definitely love another to restore if I had a garage to keep it in, but as a daily driver no bloody chance.

Had a few when they were at Clio money and as you can see they were well used.
Both dead now for no reason other than they were worthless.
Fast forward a few years and I’m a t**t for breaking them.

Watched this last night, I now really want a 5 Gt Turbo. The black V6 in the museum should have been shown more though...
