New brakes rubbing constantly

I changed the front brakes to Brembo HC & DS2500's, as well as done the hoses.

Upon putting it all back together, I could barely turn either of them. So, I done it all again, pistons defiantly pushed back as much as possible etc.Same thing. With the wheel on I could spin them so thought it's just maybe at the width limit and I need to wear a thin layer off the pads.

Done a quick spin around the 30mph block barely braking, and the fronts were fairly hot, I could touch them though.

Is it just a case of them wearing down enough? You can't really do brakes wrong!

You need to remove the standard shims from the carrier if you haven't already. Once the pad is in the carrier, make sure there's at least 1mm of vertical movement (you'll just need to file a small amount off the tabs at the top and bottom of the pad).

I've done that. Had to go buy a grinder just to do it.

That wouldn't change the fact that the brakes are 'on' a little bit...

Worth checking that it moves out when you pump the pedal.

It sounds like the same thing which happened on my mates civic, we drove it up the road hardly using the brakes and came back to the driver's side smoking hot.

As in, it's not gone in enough? The rubber looks like it couldn't go back anymore. I'll buy a clamp and see if I can do it any more.

g clamp, pushed pistons back a bit more, so there was a bit of wiggle room. pedal has a bit more travel now, feels more like before. Yesterday is was solid almost (because they were binding?)

redone everything and I could spin the wheels freely, even done a 1/4 turn once let go. just done 2 miles with no braking, 1 was luke warm, the other slightly hotter, but not too hot I couldn't touch them.

Going to bed them in when roads are quieter and see what they are then like tomorrow

Ok, apart from it telling me I've NO oil (confirmed on dipstick) and having to pay £18 for a litre at the services, it went ok. Done the bedding in procedure and they are good. A little squeal at lower speeds from the off side (the one that seemed a tighter spin).

Seem very punchy though, maybe a little copper grease on the back of the pads? I was told to avoid this on all of the guides though...

same prob here, i'll be watching this thread. I think, in my case, after 13 years and 125thousand miles the brake calipers may need a refurb !?
I've smacked a load of ceramic grease here+ there, but this is a "no go" like said earlier. Pads have done 25 miles so they can still be saved i guess. Air in the system may also be the case with mine because the first pump on the pedal is hard/stiff, but the ones after that are more "spongey" (?)pardon my english)
