Gave it the first ever wash on the drive. Wow. I used to enjoy cleaning it but it was always a bit of a chore. So much easier on the drive!

Even bothered to do it properly and to give it a coat of tripple, but I lost my wax. :-( I'm sure @JD will have something I can swap some beer tokens for?

My wheels are so crap :(

Looks ace. I have plenty for you mate. Provide me with a beer rathe than tokens and we'll give it a going over. Mine needs doing too. Still need to get arse into gear over refurb and leave it at yours/ @TheEvilGiraffe

Loltec. Been out in it all day. Roof down. Went back to CrapFit for the 111th time for wheel rebalancing and their machine is still broken. So told him where to go and he refunded me. Popped to a local near me, inde. Boy has three beemers. Techno violet e36 m3 cabrio, techno e36 touring 328 and an e46 M3Cslalike. Loved mine, dos the balancing for free and chatted in the sun for an hour or so! Loves me a petrolhead!!!

Deal. I can't wait to wax it, needs a clay too in places and my side skirt fitting. My wheels are my second set of these, lol!

Cheaper to find another set than to have them refurbed I found. ;) I had used the tyres too though, so if you're are good I can understand keeping the wheels!

Sure do.

It's taking me 160 miles a day to and from a site office at the moment. As always, munching miles like a dream.

Why? Looking at one?

I'm tempted. Always wanted one, and as summer is round the corner... Just unsure of what to do with the 182, as I dont want to sell it, but it makes no sense for us to have 3 cars and a bike.

Glad to see you're still got the Z4 Rob!

I've still got mine too. I've had a megane 250 and I've currently got a hawkeye impreza Sti along side, but tbh they're nothing on old Z, fantastic little motors.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still selling it this summer lol, but it's a hard car to replace.

Blimey! Still got yours? Must be infectious!

I'm struggling with a replacement big time.

I almost bought a 911 c2s but then reliability and common issues put me off. I just cannot find anything >15-20k to take its place.

  Z4
I'm in exactly the same position. I've not driven one yet, but I think the replacement will be an e92 M3.
Cayman S would also fit the bill, but again reliability issues scare me right off

  Z4
Ok, so I'm back on the Cayman S hunt haha!
It's just a case of finding one which has the extended Porsche warranty, or finding one at a dealers which they'd be willing to have the 111 point check done etc.

I'd also be open to a 911 (with warranty) but I fear the Porsche tax will be strong in those..

Haha! I went hunting for a 2008> cayman S the other day, was quite impressed with what I found for ~22k

What sort of budget are you shopping with?

The only thing that upsets me about the whole porsche arrangement is that I'd much much rather 22k of 911, but then you hit engine problems.

So you're basically driving a shitter car than you could be, that'll depreciate more, because porsche can't build a working f**king engine

Just couldn't do it.

I struggle enough with the concept of buying a cayman, depreciation, the softer looks. Just not for me.

Rob
I am looking at a z4 3.0 2005 manual with fsh on Friday from a dealer it had a new roof motor is there anything i else I need to check on them
Thanks

Roof motor as you say, and then knocks and bangs over bumps, specifically from the back. Front bushes are easy, but a couple of rear ones are a pain.

I'd be perfectly happy with a gen 1 or 2 CS, IMO a Porsche warranty is essential from what I've read regardless of what model you go for! The gen 2 Cayman doesn't seem to have the engine issues that plague the 1, but I can't seem to find many <25k?

I don't have a set budget, anything up to about 25K I guess but if I could find a decent Cayman S with warranty for 15k I'd be well in. Depreciation is negligible tbh, values are fairly strong, especially if you're looking at a gen 1 as the majority of the loss has already happened.

I wouldn't really call the Cayman shitter than a 911, but I hear what you're saying. On UK roads I'd actually imagine the cayman is more fun as the limits are slightly more accessible, and fun can be had within the speed limit which I think would be more difficult in the 911.

Like you though, I couldn't have a boxster!
Personally, I need something that's fun, built well, projects a good image (I'm sick of driving an impreza!), I can take it on track if I choose to, and the running costs aren't going to break me. Cayman S fits the bill tbh, in the exact same way the Z4 did.

Looks lovely. Cant believe its still not sold.
It's at fairly strong money for the age/mileage, but it's a good car to someone who wants to buy one and make the upgrades that most "car people" make.

To be honest, I may even remove it from sale because I've just bought a new bike, so I don't need a new car for a while.

So to bring this to a close, it's sold, sold it with 151,000 miles on the clock. @Laura

Actually really miss it, bang for buck it was superb. Anyone that's considering buying one, do it.

I lost £1500 on purchase price in 5 and a half years!!!!!!!! I know I put some money into mods, but no more than a grand all in.

So even with that, 5.5 years ownership, 68,000 miles, 2.5k was the cost above and beyond normal running costs... only significant repairs was a clutch (£250), and an ecu (£750).

New car Wednesday.

I was trying to get a mate of mine to buy this. He was either too gay, or not gay enough.

Cracking car, Bobman.

That side shot shows how unbelievable it looks for it's age. Stunning for a 14 year old car.

Can't believe you owned a single car for 5.5 years though, don't think I could ever do that. Figures stack up well though aye!

Car was a hoot, seems longer than 5 and a half years tbh.

Remember our silly drive home that caught the attention of a couple of chaps in a Hyundai?

Definitely just not enough of a man. As long as you can take a few scissors in the boot type jokes most people love it.

I agree, with a private plate I think most would struggle to guess the age of it tbh.

It's the longest I've owned any car tbh, but during that time I also bought another car (Mini Cooper s) and had three motorbikes...

Oh man, end of an era 😧

It's ok, you've taken the two seater soft top title now so I could retire.

Lol! I'd almost forgotten..

'Ant I think these blokes are gonna try and rob us'

*out comes the police badge*

'Oh'

What have you bought to replace it

You'll see on Wednesday.. Ant bought lots of cylinders and I felt left out.

Mental that you still have this! Lovely car.
Like people have said, I can't believe it's not sold for that money.
