Where to get a supercharger for the clio?

  cup 182
Ktec one is 4k
Phoned rs tuning Leeds, they don't supply them
Phoned clioturbouk Durham they don't supply them
Is there any one else other than ktec in the UK that supply superchargers for the clio?
Cheers

Tts will sell you a charger and oil system
I will sell you brackets
eBay for everything else
Cheers, I had a look at tts there, there wanting £1700 for the charger the pulley belt and oil.
ktec at 4k give you ecu, sports intercooler, fuel injectors, the oil cooler, brackets and air filter kit plus the charger
Does this seem to justify 4k or is that expensive?
Do you need all the above for the conversion?
Cheers

I think you can map the standard ECU with the EFI module but you'd be better off with a standalone like the Gen90. There is a reason most on here use turbo.

Just think if that charger needs replacing...

What about Engine Dynamics?
Yes i did look at there 230bhp low boost turbo conversion and clio turbo UK aswell but i just thought reliability, gearbox,
Clutch, turbo failing, overheating etc
And your thousands for fitting and setting up where as i was quoted £300 for the supercharger being fitted and was told it's alot less hassle apparently

Don't go to clioturbo.

£300 for fitting! By who? First job is a cambelt change
Swr autos in Stirling, garage deals with Renault sports
I did ask twice about the price as i thought that was to cheap but he said if your supplying the full kit and it's just for fitting it I'll do it for 300 quid, that was after he went to check with someone aswell, but can only go with quote he gave me

But then say a garage is roughly £50 an hour labour,
Could they not fit a supercharger in 6hrs if they know what there doing
Apparently there just bolt on?
But I'm not a mechanic so i honestly don't know

The first job is to change the lower pulley for one from a Megane, to do this you need to change the belts so that is £600.
If you are on a budget this probably isn't the right option for you

Oh right it never said in the ktec fitting service the belts needed replaced! Ktec fit the charger for 800 quid the biggest outlay is the charger itself at 4k.
The engine dynamics 230 kit is looking good now i never knew about that, and fitted it's just over 3k but there in Essex miles away from me

Oh Yogi - has it been worth it? Cost/reliability etc?

Yep.

I've had no reliability issues. I turn it on, drive to a track, smash about all day whilst annoying people in "faster cars". Then drive home again. After a piccy nic, of course.

People always say buy a faster car, but you point out a car that's as much fun with 250bhp per ton for the same money?

Do Ktec include a cambelt change with the drive in drive out s/charged option does anyone know? As said nothing is mentioned on their site.

Does no one go down the supercharged route these days, a few years ago this was all the rage, its seems to be turbo charging these days, whats the reason?

You can screw more power out of a turbo.....right up until the block gives out.
Also, kids love a turbo. Blowers are superior though, @Cub. s one made me grin so hard I almost left a white puddle on the pass. seat

Ahhh, so its about the potential for more power then, just seems strange s/c seemed to have dissapeared after all the conversions that were going ahead years ago, thought with the. "more reliability" they'd still be a popular choice.

I do love the sound of a turbo though [emoji15]

I prefer the whine of a blower TBH.
And that when you press GO, it goes...immediately
The only supercharged car I've been in was a standard cooper s, and that was a bit limp tbh, wouldn't mind trying a modded one
RST are developing a kit. It's being fitted and setup to a car now. Retains the AC too.
Thought they already had a kit that's been about for a few years?

The cost of the rotrex is the main issue i would assume, its £1600 and not a serviceable item. If you are handy with spanners you can turbo a clio (with the EFI module) yourself for a few hundred £ more than the cost of just the rotrex

@Christopher do you know the cost of the supercharger kit from EngineDynamics...........even the non AC kit
