£30k to spend, what performance car?

Apologies if the question comes across a little idiotic.
But what performance car could you recommend that will not lose more than 5% of its value in 6 months to a year of ownership?

Elise or Exige is a good shout.

Decent Cayman R or even an S if you buy well enough.
First two yes! Won't be able to get a cayman R for that kind of money. Seen a couple of 4Cs at just over 30 with slightly higher than average mileage but they go quickly when well priced. M3 CS.

There`s a big difference between loss & loose, or bending over or kneeling down.
15 1172,182`s would be a good each way bet.
Can you lend me £200 until May 20th, and I`ll repay you £210.

To be perfectly honest, its not the car you buy, its the deal you get on it. Purchase any of the cars mentioned from a dealer and you WILL lose out, on their margin, above private/trade, instantly.

If you want to minimise depreciation, simply buy well, privately. Pretty much all cars <less than 3 years old are on PCP so search the classifieds for private sales, most of these cars will only sell to cash buyers or be traded in for peanuts. Make them an offer, pay off their finance, everyones a winner.

loads I can think of, granted not all are using the full budget.

mk2 FRS
mk3 FRS
Impreza RB320
R34 gtr (not looked at prices for a while not sure if they are still sub 30k)
Megan's r26-r
as Danny says 182 trophy althow u might need more than 30k by the time a few months have past

sub 30k for me would always be a meg 275 cup-s but the depreciation is the issue with them!

Is it for normal road use or track?
Can you not get Audi rs3 rs4 and rs5 models now for under 30k
Others i would say
Impreza p1
Evolution 6 Tommi makkinen

I didn't want to be to specific. Mainly to open my mind up to other cars and to here other peoples opinion.
Because I don't have a garage a more track orientated car e.g. aerial or Caterham would not be ideal. I would however try and find storage for it if thats the route.
Something I could use daily or every other day (my commute is like 80 miles a week) so mileage is not an issue. Also something that would be good to take on a road trip through Europe.
That porka i linked is really drawing my attention.

I noticed with cars like the early E92 M3 Manual they are hovering around £16k mark and because of the E46 they wont drastically drop to £13k just yet. So that particular car would fit the criteria.
