  RS Clio 182
Well i finally said goodbye to my Silver 182 ive had for nearly 10 years, and covered around 85K in it. I saw this LY 200 come up on Gumtree and fell in love with the colour when i viewed it. These things look much better in the flesh than on screen imo.

Bought it for £6300 plus my 182 p/x. (My 182 had a bad dint in the passenger side which had decreased its value well below a grand)

It has the cup spoiler, also a KTR Induction kit and a Avrapovic exhaust system which is frankly an insane sound...I know a couple of users on here have had this car, after doing some research. I love the fact that this colour is so rare,a real head turner and i doubt il see another one anytime soon!

Compared to the 182 you really have to drive differently in this, the clutch is totally different,im finding my style of gear changes will have to differ to get the most out of the acceleration - ive found myself kangarooing in 2nd for some reason hehe. Im not sure how different this drives with the induction & Akra compared to a standard 200?

First plans for it is to get the rims coated black,or get some speedlines....

Il update the thread with more pics soon....

Nice.... what else you got planned? [emoji12]

Dipping the rims black - but sounds a ballache to do,take wheels off, garage to take tyres off, take rims to get coated, put tyres back on at the garage....i suppose its better than shelling out for some speedlines though! Ive been quoted £130 for the rims coated.

Leave the wheels silver! Or get speedlines. Don't go black.

If it helps, Matt said the akra transformed the car. It might've helped as the previous exhaust was a length of pipe instead of a back box lol. The induction kit sounded pretty ace too.

The kangarooing isn't you, it's mk3 clios in general. They need to warm up a bit before you can drive them with any dignity lol.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it :D

What does an induction kit actually do? Increase the bhp? I revealed its beauty when i opened the bonnet for the first time today hehe.

Not really, it's just another air filter and on a n/a car it's really just for noise.

On heavily fettled cars they can be an improvement but not so much on standard cars.

The noise is good though!

Ah ok...its confusing which noise is the exhaust, which is the induction, and what it sounds like totally standard hehe. I found a standard 182 TOO quiet, you could hardly hear the exhaust. Not sure what a standard 200 is like.

Standard 182 exhausts are shockingly quiet - I couldn't believe the transformation when I got an aftermarket one on there.

literally a piece of scaffolding pipe haha. The Akrapovic is ace though.

Its still on then? I scraped a few knuckles fitting that

Yeah hehe,i checked yesterday...my insurance company wouldnt insure me anymore with those mods so i had to change companies quite quickly!

I noticed there were recaro seats in before, were they removed?

  Clio 172 Cup
As far as im aware there wasnt any? it was one of my best mates Matt who had it and im sure you have had some details from @Knuckles as he knows him too. When he had it about 2 years ago they were just the non recaro sport seats.

I still remember the pic haha "here's why it was so loud"

Nice to see you back on! How's the 172 coming along?

Cheers. Sold that and had a run around for a while while me and mr's bought a house. Once settled in i spotted a 172 cup so now have one of them! has matt told you about my double garage with a inspection pit haha

Even though this car is such a riot to drive when you push it,i cant believe how stuttery and 'kangarooy' it can be certain moments - ive read that this is a characteristic of the 197/200 on a cold engine - but its kangarooed for me in 2nd gear even after driving for 10 minutes! Seems to be a bit random....you really have to watch your gear changes and clutch control, its such a hard car to get a 'smooth' launch from 1st gear - anyone else have any experience of this?

I believe there is a cable tie mod for the map sensor which solves this?

I dont have permission to see that thread, but i watched a vid showing fitting two cable ties in the engine bay - does that really work?!
Become a member mate. Definitely worth the £12.

Here's the video -
I'd read lots before about people having positive experiences doing this. For the price of 2 cable ties its worth it!

I was a member mate...it mustve run out hehe.

If that cable tie thing is true, why didnt Renault do something about it?! Its quite a major thing wrong with the car...

  Megane R26
I used some silicone gasket sealer to seal map sensor to inlet. Also a remap made all the difference to driveablity from cold.

Mine was also not the easiest to pull of the line with gently

  RS Clio 182
How come you're getting rid?

I actually swapped it for an R26 a few months ago. The guy i swappped has it up for sale now hehe.

My reasons were the kangarooing, cold start issues and the Akra was a bit too loud for me for everyday commuting. Great car on the B roads, but a bit of a pain for everyday use.

I know an EFI remap wouldve sorted things but when this R26 swap opportunity came i jumped at the chance. A much better car for everyday use imo...but still has the power and handling when you want it.
