Ph1 air box with a itg filter fitted and a nice Samco silicone elbow onto the throttle body or an itg maxogen kit seem to give the best results

Supposedly the Ph1 or V6 airbox with a performance filter and good cold air feed is one of the best setups.

but really you're talking a few BHP between that and a stock ph2 airbox with performance filter.

Well I think I may have lost my standard box .

Just looking at options if I need to buy something .

Whats a fatty ?

How come phase 1 box is better than phase 2 ? different design ?

Yeah they sound good. The only thing I spotted in the hot weather the standard airbox or ph1 etc seems better

Simplest way to get a bit more 'growl' is to drill some holes in the lower half of the OE airbox on the right side as you look at the engine. Add an ITG/K&N/Pipercross panel filter for a few 'claimed' BHP (not convinced but they do sound good!).

The Fatty setup, and variants thereof, is probably the next step and a nice upgrade both visually and for the noise. The KTR induction kit is more or less the same principle as the Fatty but more £s and quite a bit louder (in my experience).

I tried all of the above before settling on the BMC CDA Carbon airbox, which is similar size/position to the Ph1 airbox. I've got mine coupled to a Samxo silicone elbow. The BMC is hideously expensive new but they do pop up now and again second-hand. Great noise, not too loud or harsh, look great and cant be doing any harm to the engine breathing/power.

Looks great.

Like you say the bmc are mega new and at one point you couldn't give them away second hand as it sits close to the rad.

The ktec sounds better than the fatty.

After me having quite a few including the itg maxogen i wont be swapping from the phase 1 airbox.

Mine was recently re-mapped by Paul @RS Tuning following a whole range of upgrades. It had the Fatty kit on there during the tuning and I've subsequently swapped to the BMC when it popped up on the forum classifieds. I prefer the sound and, so far, I've not been aware of a change in performance (via arse dyno!) [emoji106]

Mine was mapped with the fatty and made 183 at efi so it does work. I just prefer the phase 1 set up now. And still makes an okay noise.

I run this set up:

RamAir filter (with built in neck), 2x silicone hoses at 70mm and a all joiner connecting the pipes together. Sounds great and looks smart too. Also its easy to make and remove in sections.

You need:
*2x 70mm 90 degree silicone hoses in your colour choice. I hoses black ASH ones and turn them so the logo was upside down.
*1x 70mm ally joiner
*1x RamAir filter. I went for 70mm with the eck fitted. This is better as it means you dont need to buy 2 joiners. Part number is JS-105-BK.
*1x Universal breather filter that slides into the breather pipe at the back of the inlet. Cant remember what size but 12mm rings a bell?
*Filter spray and 4x 60mm - 80mm jubilee clips.

Here's my V6 setup "Cup Racer Style" with a COF going down infront of the NSF Wheel

Looks good that.

Ever had it rolling roaded to see if all the effort of shifting the battery actually makes a difference?

Cheers mate, I'd already moved the battery right infront of the Passenger seat to save weight (Oddesey in there now) and to move the weight into a better position, so I got hold a V6 box maily to make use of the better airflow.
It made 178bhp at the fly wheel in March when I had the Ph1 box fitted in the original position so I could pop down and stick it on again to see if it's made any gains I'd be happy with 2bhp lol
