Slight thud

  Clio 182
hi guys my 182's developed a slight thudding sound while driving! It gets faster as I go faster and vice versa I've checked for things stuck in the tyre and can't find anything can anyone give a clue as to what might be causing this
Cheers guys

It seems to be constant, can hear it while accelerating and while coasting it sounds like there's a stone or nail stuck in a tyre but can't find anything

Work out whether the noise is related to road speed or engine speed.
Drive so you can hear the sound, then put the car in neutral, let the clutch out and let the engine idle. Does the sound change? Does it change when the clutch is in? Does it change with road speed?

If it changes with road speed then it's something connected to the wheels. If it changes with engine speed it's something connected to the engine.

Have you checked the tyre walls, outer & inner? I had a bulge in one once that caused a speed related thudding.

Pfftt lucky guess...

If your clios anything like mine you'll replace the disk and you'll still have the "slight thud" I've been chasing the cause of my slight thud for sone time now!

  need BRAKES? PM me
Check your calipers aren't binding, excessive heat may have caused the crack. But I'd only use plain OE on the rear anyway , get in touch if want a set @Gary Pease
