Cam belt service.

Hi,
I know this question has probably been asked hundreds of times but I recently picked up a Clio 200. It has a full service history however nowhere does it state the cam belt etc. has been changed? The vehicle is 6 years old with 46000 on the clock. Is there anyway of finding out if this was carried out before I spend the best part of £650 getting it done. Also does anyone know of a reputable garage that can carry this out in North Yorkshire?

Do you know who the PO is? Whats the reg on the car as someone may recognise it.
You could try ringing local specialists near where the last owner was based but it'll be like a needle in a haystack.

Some good garages fairly local to you are DDC Doncaster, Rstuning, or Mick at diamond motors but that's a fair way from whitby in Nottingham.

Don't mind travelling a bit as long as the job gets done correctly. Heard of some real horror stories and read a few on here too. The registration is DA60 NGE. However my private reg will be going on as soon as I get the log book.

What did you do in Long Eaton while you were waiting? I've got mine booked in for this coming Tuesday and I'm dreading just wandering the streets for 6-7 hours haha.

I stayed in the garage with Mick mate. Enjoyed it really as was learning and just chatting.

Oh that's pretty cool might ask him if I can just do that and learn a thing or two! Always been interested in seeing the process of the F4R belt change.

Well I'm booked in with Mick now, it's a bit of a drive to get it done (approx 2 1/2 hours) but as my local Renault garage quoted me £1250 :fearscream: I thought I'd go with the recommendations given. 😅

I've found most places just make up a price. I got it all done, then had to have the manifold repaired then the front shocks replaced. These cars are money pits if nothing else! As for full service history I've got paint falling off as it has definitely been involved in an accident at some point. Came back clear on the check though. Lol
