Started the car this morning and it was idling at 2.5k, after driving the engine management light came on and it would rev above 3k
So when i plugged it into my RS Tuner, the faults shown were
'Inconsistency between track 1-2 pedal' and 'Throttle pedal position track 2' any ideas?
When braking my ABS seems to be cutting in when i brake, not all the time just when its slightly heavier than normal. From looking at a couple of threads on here it may be the ABS ring.
Where are these?
How do i check them?
How do i replace them if they are broken/faulty?

I was in the process of cleaning the inside of the alloys on my 172 yesterday and whilst i had the wheels off i decided to clean and paint the calipers. All was going ok until i got to the drivers side locking nut. The locker just slipped off and now i cant get it to stay in with out slipping...
Should i have a spring cup on the strut? Just got these this morning from a member on here. When i previous replaced the springs there wasnt a rubber cup for them to sit into but now wondering if there should have been

Bought this car back in May after selling my 225 Cup Lux, what a come down this was but the threat of redundancy called to my more mature side and i realised that i need to save money where possible.
So bought this as a run about for abit until i could secure and other job, its now grown on...
My drivers side window switches/handle are looking abit tatty so was looking to replace this for a new one or a second hand one thats in better condition. Is it just a straight swap? easy to do?

My cars just gone 91k, i know a service isnt due until 96k but like to do them every 6k. Is there anything major i need to be doing apart from the normal oil and filter changes?

I have an annoying misfire. Its ok above approx 2.8k revs but anything below that and on idle it misses.
Ive changed the plugs for some proper NGK ones
Tried a new coil pack and HT leads
Run it on the RS Tuner and it comes up with nothing
Also replaced front lambda sensor aswell
been running...
I don't seem to have a temp showing on my display. Ive had a look in the manual for the fuse that relates to this but it doesnt tell you.
Anyone know?
If the fuse is fine, where would be my next point of call?
Can someone please confirm the order that the HT Leads go from the coil pack to the block.
The coil pack as 1,2,3,4 on, am i right in thinking that the 1 goes to the very left of the block (drivers side) and then works 2,3,4?

Driving to work tonight my car was VERY under powered. I could not get it over 2k in any gear. Revved freely when out of gear but not as free as it normally does.
When in gear its very very under powered and judders like its going to stall.
Managed to get to a layby and called the RAC. THe guy...
I suspect that mine is fault on my 172. I was thinking about swapping the front and back around to see if there is a difference in MPG and performance. I have read that this is ok to do but have also read that the looms are slightly different in lengths.
So is the down stream shorter than the up...
Couple of questions in this, some after the pic. Pleas read it all.
Today i decided to look at my spark plugs to see how they were doing. When taking the coil pack and Plenum (sp) off i noticed that the loom only had three wires going to the plug on the coil pack but the coil pack had 4 pins...
the other day i was sat in traffic and for some random reason i pulled both widnow switches up and the hazard lights flashed. it does it everytime i pull both switches up when the windows are up.
Any ideas what this means?
I was driving home just now and heard a knocking noise coming from the front. On further inspection i found that the rubber of the drivers side top mount had come away just leaving the metal exposed.
Am i ok to drive this until Monday afternoon until i can get the replacement part?

I know that the RS Tuners are locked to a certain car but have read about unlock codes that can be bought.
I have a friend that has a Megane so his RS Tuner will obviously be locked to that car.
Will it only have the maps on for the megane or...
So following on from THIS THREAD below is a list of things that have been tested. Its been to a guy near me that has a very good reputation and has done some work on the 197 7-speed sequential gear boxs.
Its been on the dyno for live reading and had the following ruled out/replaced/tested...
Mines not working, the button presses in but i get no light on the dash and the back window doesn't clear when misted up. Checked the fuse and its fine. Any ideas before i start ripping things out?
When i turn the ignition on and whilst the car is running there is a constant drowning noise that sounds like a fuel pump priming but its constant.
Any ideas?

Im replacing the clio springs tomorrow and thought that i might aswell replace the strut to hub bolts and nuts and the bolts that hold the rear dampers to the car. Does anyone know the sizes of them...
Going to be fitting new springs tomorrow using THIS GUIDE, ive got all the bolts soaked in WD40. Is there any other tips before i jump in with both feet tomorrow?
Once ive unbolted the strut do i need to be caerfull of the driveshaft falling out of the box and leaking gearbox oil everywhere?
As title really, only had the car a day. on the way home from picking it up i took the car through the revs to the 7 ish k limiter in every gear once to check it was ok. Now it wont go more than 5.5k in any gear.
It gets to 5.5k and then it seems to miss fire and loose power, then slowly creep...
