You do realise by positioning the sensor there your gauge is not going to work until the thermostat opens?
A better place to position it would be on the rear hose that exits the block to the heater matrix as this has flow all the time not just when the stat is open.
I'd say from looking at my wheel that Sanppy removes all the soft rubber covering leaving the harder plastic shell which is covered in some kind of padding and the leather is applied over that.
I do like a nice RS and yours looks spot on, good choice of ride height and wheel combo although I think it may look better with the centre caps fitted.
I'd recommend OE disc's with Axiss ultimate pads, they work just as well on the road as the do on track but are a little dusty.
It will be interesting to see whats done with this after seeing the slow progress of your 5 (I'm another turbo'd Mk1 owner and Mx5nutz user)
Do you plan to be so extreme with this as you were with the 5?
I keep seeing the recommendation when refreshing the suspension to go for the cup dampers opposed to standard items, what the reason behind this.
Are they a stronger unit with a larger diameter shaft?
Do they have different valveing to the stock items?
When I say idiot I did not mean they were not up to the job of competently mapping an ECU it was more to do with their general demeanour. I arrived at the agreed time and was then left standing there for 20 minutes after I'd introduced myself while they chatted between themselves (idle chit...
I thought I was the only person that thought that, every time I read anything about R n' T it's been nothing but glowing reports.
I took my turbo'd Mx5 to him which at the time had an Emerald K3 fitted and thought the guy a total f**k idiot, I admit I never got him to map the car maybe if I...
It would be interesting to know what torque it's making and how aggressive the torque curve is.
But if those number are accurate the 1.6 Eco-boost is a stout little unit.
A supercharger is still a form of forced induction so the inlet manifold is pressurised and not a atmospheric pressure as it would be in a NA setup, the stock ECU does not have the capability to monitor manifold pressure as a reference point for it's fueling map therefore it cannot control the...
That looks a very neat stealthy install, how are you finding the 178BT?
I'm about to make a start on my own set up using the same Alpine CDE-178BT, I've also gone for an active Alpine sub but in the shape of the SWE-815, My front end comps arrived today some Morel Dotech Ovation 5's which will...
Your cars come some way in 2 1/2yrs, credit to you.
I'm literally around the corner from you judging by your pics (sure I've seen your car around the rock) I'm going to be ordering a Snappy re-trimmed wheel pretty soon and it would be nice seeing one in the flesh (well leather) before placing...
Cheers for the reply Kev, Looks like I don't have anything missing as I first feared.
I was just out messing around and I've managed to snap the front fixing tab on the air box, looks like the plastic has gone brittle.
I'll pop a wanted ad up, I'm sure there must be loads of air boxes kicking...
I recently bought a ph2 172 which came with a DIY induction kit, I'm not a fan of these so have binned it in favour of a stock air box setup which I got from eBay.
Now the air box I bought has got 2 hole on the dirty side, one at the front on the side which takes the pipe which ducks down under...
Thanks.
It's hard to believe it's 7 yrs since I sold it on, since then I have eyed up a couple of Bug and Hawkeye's (not a fan of the Blob) but never taken the plunge, but I guess there are to many other cars out there I'd like to own.
As the guide points out, get yourself a turkey baster from a supermarket, I got one from Morisson's for about a quid it's the easiest way of sucking the old oil from the turret.
The fuel filler will be exactly the same on both import or a UK car.
The reason I asked was if it's a UK car or a import was I hoped you paid good attention to the front chassis legs?
These are a known very weak point of the NB shell and rot out especially in UK cars, imports have normally had...
Wow..... such love for the Impreza.
Here's my '98 STi IV bought it in '00 and didn't sell it until '07 the longest I've owned any car, I loved it's blend of practicality, durability and cross country pace.
It looked relatively stock from the outside but had a RCM built engine and made 405bhp...
I think that may of been an issue with the pump you used rather than the filler on the car, I've owned three 5's and each was capable of being filled with either 95 or 98/99Ron fuel.
Is the car JDM or EDM?
Good choice mate (even if it is a NB ;)) the Mx5 is a cracking little roadster, But then again I'm very biased, I'm currently on my 3rd.
If your looking for a new home you won't regret signing up to Mx5Nutz forum.
I recently lost my company car due to new H&S policy which states anyone that carries or may need to carry bulky items on the companies behalf must do so in a company supplied vehicle, that vehicle will be a new Ford connect van.... WooHoo :(
I have a young family that generally gets carted...
