good work fella - take it easy, as it's been said these cars are pretty unforigiving when you get it wrong.
get yourself on a driver training day www.carlimits.co.uk to learn the limits - i did and it's given my so much more appreciation for the car and what it can do
i used to have a 182 and now own an S1 111s, nothing compares to the feedback and reward you get from giving the elise a damn good thrashing on some bendy roads - simply awesome, 8 months into ownership and it still gives me a buzz when i get in!
I say do it while you're young, save the...
the elise doesn't!!!
i bought an S1 111S and my god is it fast - dont expect to get a lot of money for your 182......
drive lots as well - this will help make your mind up
you can't beat the 182 for all round practicality and speed
cheers fellas
That was my first track day!!
Northy, my back wheel is at least a foot higher than yours ;-) plus it was a winter greasy track, 182 rules!!!
I reckon there are a few people (me included) that would like to find a reasonably priced solution to creating a better handling 182 w/ cup packs and it not costing a fortune.........
I've heard on here the GAZ give a really harsh ride, Ledas are massively expensive although very good.
Is...
Nice one mate, just what i wanted to hear
they should last many many track days
next q - where's the best place to buy them?? i've just checked mytyres and it doesn't seem they stock them.......
hi
Can anyone recommend reasonably priced tyres ideal for a track day?
I've been recommended the new Toyo 888r's but they don't seem to do them in 205/45/16
the day was £99 and worth every penny - i got free tuition, the instructor was very impressed with the chuckability of the 182, i offered him a go but he wasn't allowed!
2 tanks of fuel (£70)
2 front tyres (£150? - they were 90% warn already)
insurance (£70 next time at Bedford I wouldn't...
Cheers fellas, as i said it was a great day, there is loads of run off on the circuit so you can give it lots of beans (2nd lap got caught out with a 180 degree spin)!! would recommend to anyone
I had a go in my bro's S2 elise and tbh if someone half inched my car the money would help me get...
hi
Went to Bedford Autodrome yesterday - it was god damn awesome, I would highly recommend it.
It was greasy in the morning with loads of understeer. When it dried later in the day the grip was better but I was still getting loads of understeer...
Anyone got any recommendations to make...
Mine had it about 9 months ago, sensor was all over the shop and it spluttered while hot. I went to my local dealiership, took out the head mechanic for a drive and it stalled within 5 minutes of driving, it failed to start for about 15 mins with the fuel pump pumping....... they replaced the...
cheers Mike birmingham is a bit far!! Im looking for someone around Kingston way, Im nervous someone may push the dent out and permanently damage the door......
anyone got a recommendation?
can anyone help???
i was considering borrowing a Koi Carp from the local pond to suck it out..... would rather try a reputable dent fixer before hand though........
Some frikin tit has opened their door into my car and left a nice crease down my drivers side door. Every time I get into the car I see it!!! my car is no longer shiny and new............ b******s
Can anyone recommend a good person to get rid of Dents in South West London?
cheers, Duce
That sucks mate, i swear they keep your car in the garage over the weekend on purpose, to deprive you of your pride and joy
the mechanic that fixed mine told me it is interference that causes the temp gauge to go up down intermittently and also cause the engine to play up. Its the computer...
I had this happen too, so took it to the dealers and went out for a test drive with the mechanic - it broke down on Weybridge high street and wouldnt start again - stank of fuel as you rightly say fuel pump keeps going despite being unable to start the engine.
They replaced the ECU and ive not...
sounds to me like interference with ECU, first place it shows up is temp censor. Mine went doolally then the car conked out. Since then had it replaced and its fine.
Its your ECU mate, mine did the same, the wiring beds in over time and wires can end up touching each other.
If your temp gauge goes up and down it means there is some interference in the ECU - wires touching can cause this.
Take it down your dealer and tell them about temp gauge - they...
I drove both before buying a 182
To be honest i didnt find a great deal of difference between the two - cupped one was better for me as it felt a little stiffer (the ride hardly being comprimised either)
Needless to say i bought a 182 with cup suspension and no regrets...
As...
