Fortunately for me my Missus step brother is a very talented mechanic who has agree to help me (do the majority whilst I make brews) with the turbo conversion.
This was the state of play when we left it last weekend
Unfortunately we had a few hiccups. Firstly was that on the day we were due to...
As above, can anyone tell me the correct spec bolts for the inlet manifold please and if anything special is needed for them? Mine are looking quite tatty and would prefer to refresh
Also if anyone knows the correct size torx for the airbox bolts as mine are rusted like crazy!
Thanks in...
I'm happy to summarise these at some point, I've got an ongoing spread sheet which helps me realise what a t**t I am!
I don't typically record sundries such as nuts / bolts / tools etc.. an example being when I did the tie rods, I went through 2 specialist tools before getting it right. Was a...
Last bits gotten!
Fairly certain I'm chatting to myself so may stop updating this thread.
And my ECU came back flashed with the forced induction module from EFI. Massive shout out to Chris @EFI, only stuck it in the post Tuesday afternoon and I received it back Friday completed.

Ahh haha! Missed that, just saw Siemens which I know to be German.
Maybe it should read 'thankfully not designed in France?'

So am not sure if anyone is listening ha, but I managed to get my ECU out, in the post up to EFI now.
Will probably do a small write up on it to save people the hassle as there isn't much out there on it and I've already drafted it in word so I don't forget for the refit!

Ordered the boost module from EFI and set about removing the ECU to be flashed, then it's off to my mates workshop who will be doing the majority or the work.
I'm going to 'help'
This is a ball ache so far!
Anyguidance on removing the ECU cover would be appreciated, I lost light but hope to...
New bits arrived a couple of weeks ago. I've not got round to getting them fitted yet as I'm at an age now where all my friends seem to want to get married.
Hope to get them sorted in the next few weeks, as I fancy Combe on the 13th.
8kg / 8kg with adjustable top mounts

Got some new goodies arriving shortly, to cure he crippling understeer I've grown oh so fond of.
Had a great day at Bedford with a mate of mine on Wednesday.
Also, looks good on its chariot!

I really enjoyed that, thank you! I'd love to get into racing, what would you say is a decent budget to get a standard 'track spec' car to 750 standards?

So passed my trailer test last week after nearly cocking up the reverse manoveur due to a bad case of the yips.
I've put a deposit down on this trailer and have my towbar being fitted August 18th.
I'm driving the car to Snet on Thursday for hopefully the last time.
No real plans for the...
Shameless self plugging [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
It might be in my head but it definately seems to have stiffened it up!

She's done she's done!
Car drives completely differently, it has a far stiffer characteristic and feels very nice in my limited road test!

Oh thought I'd post this. Last lap at an extremely wet and greasy oulton park.
I carried around 25/30 mph through the chicane (which you may here my delicate northern tones say) and then turned in a touch too early for a wetline on the bend. Gave my dad a brown trouser moment.

Sure dude, the seller doesn't list them anymore but can still produce them. I contacted him off the email on his website
alachi57.
I'll get some pictures of mine when it's done, should pick up this week.
@JonC219 is doing mine for me and replacing some of the spreader plates with more robust...
Cars back. Looks exactly as before to be fair, my mate managed to get my camber to around 0.5 using the camber bolts which is 'ok'
He mentioned he found the Bilsteins very boaty which id agree with to an extent.
May look into some BC / AST / Gaz next which some adjustable top mounts

After Oulton and hopefully donnington in a couple of weeks I aim to get it fitted. I am slightly...
It's a valid point, I know this little car is a good example. Already shows others up on the track with a little experienced driver.
The only thing swaying me the other way, is I'd like to do a couple of European road trips and the Clio is undrivable for these low! Maybe I need another weekend...
