I know a fair bit about the Omex stuff (worked very closely with them on various projects over the years). My first question would be what crank sensor does it use? If it uses Omex's own one (ford) that would be my first guess. The ECU's are pretty much bullet proof so it's unlikely to be that...
The only solid code is P0105 which is MAP sensor but this has been replaced. Perhaps with another broken one but I doubt it very much. I replaced the coilpack, leads and injectors yesterday but I now suspect it's got the wrong plugs in it. Trying another set this evening thanks to @Budgie.
The...
Hi Guys,
Beginning to run out of patience here... I have had a check engine light on since I've owned the car (ph1 172). It keeps throwing up code P0105 which is the MAP sensor. At Goodwood on Saturday the car started misfiring at part throttle and occasionally at full throttle, it was low on...
Sadly we have a race school on that weekend up at Donington otherwise I'd be there mate. If the date changes or another one is organised let me know!
Great to meet you today also man.
I'll try and make this. At this stage I can't commit that far ahead as I've got a project on with work that could see me away that weekend. But if I'm around i'll come along and see what power mine is actually making.
Done a few more jobs over the past couple of days to satisfy my automotive OCD and get the car a little more to my liking.
Fitted the engine cover as I just think it looks smarter. I know the cup versions didn't have them to save weight but for the sake of the minimal weight added I could go...
I don't own the M3 but I've got access to it. It's very much a track car and really unpleasant to drive on the road but it's absolutely epic on track. That said my 172 keeps it honest right up to the top end of 4th gear.
I'm just up the road from Shepperton so give me a shout if you ever want...
So the story begins way back in 2005 at the ripe age of 18 years old when I got my first Clio, a 1.2 Grande RN. I loved that car and always planned to replace it with a 172 when insurance allowed.
I moved to New Zealand for five years where in my whole time I saw one Clio and promptly got...
Got one from @midge this evening (thanks man!) as it turned out he lives close to my mate who I was out for a drive with so worked out well. Appears that his dials have only 200 miles more than mine so works out well. Will test tomorrow and report back.
Just tried this. All dials work except speedometer. I suspect the speedometer may have been left unplugged at some stage but annoyingly my torx set is 60 miles away!
Hi Guys,
My 172 speedometer doesn't work. I've only just picked up the car and it hasn't worked since I've had it, and apparently hasn't worked in the previous owners time with it. Googling / forum searches have suggested the speedo sensor but I've changed this and it's still not working...
to be honest mate getting parts for it over here are going to be near on impossible. Clio's simply do not exist here. Although having said that i do have a container full of stuff back in the UK so i could ship some parts over in there. But to be honest i think its a phase 2 anyway, or maybe...
Hello all,
must admit its been a while since i posted on here glad to see everything still flowing along nicely.
Anyhow, i've been offered a Mk1 Ph3 1.2 (a vary rare find in NZ!) and the engine is a bit of a dog. Its done a fair few miles and its not been overly looked after but im tempted...
£9500 TPFT on dads name on his 911 (964) Carrera 4 at age 17 through performance marque.
However in NZ i have both my S14 and my R32 GTS insured Fully Comp for less than £400 at age 20!! i love cheap insurance!
i've used to see a black 182 around banbury all the time. it had CS stickers in the rear windows but i dont think the owner is actually a member here. the only other RS' i saw regularly was bubbles' liquid 182
