Ah ok then, thats fair enough. Like i said, i couldnt see the video at work.
So in your opinion, do you think it would have been more evenly matched, or faster had it of had someone of equal driving capabilities as yourself.
i cant see the video at work, so dont know exactly what happens. But from what i've read, the focus driver was in front, and stayed in front, even though his driving was bad.
So i dont know if the CUP was all over him, and he was just getting in the way, or if the CUP was just keeping with...
Who cares which is fastest, at the end of the day they are all cheap french rattle boxes, lol.
We've established at most there is 1-2bhp difference at the wheels, so in the real world, on the roads or the track its going to be driver talent that wins the race.
If you want to make your car...
personally i'd change that statement to...
"I wouldnt buy one unless it had an M-sport engine"
Lots of little chavs buy a 318 and stick an M badge on the boot ;)
Good skills, but unless its just crap video, he needs to get rid of that dumpvalve and get a decent one, as that sounds like he is running a budgie over or something.
If i heard that go off the lights and squeak like that, i'd laugh at it. Hell im laughing at it now, lol.
Nice conversion though.
I thought CUP's didnt have ABS because they were more track/rally orientated. As surely having ABS isnt that much extra weight over NON-ABS.
As i'd imagine a proper rally/track driver wouldnt want ABS kicking in under heavy breaking in a race.
I found the CUP breaks excellent for feedback...
When i was looking for a 172, i had the money, and the salesman knew this. He only had a CUP in at the time though. And just because i said i wasnt sure if i wanted a CUP or a FF, he wouldnt let me take it out for a drive. He said that i would only be driving it to thrash it, as i wasnt really...
I went from my 1.2 clio to a 323 BMW (it had a 2.5l engine though). It had 170bhp and the same in torque. It used to pull so nicely. I changed for a CUP after only a few months though. Not because the BMW was/is a bad car, as it was solid, and would kill a clio over 70-80mph upto 140mph easily...
I use AG Glass Polish. But can get concentrated industrial glass cleaner through my dad as he has worked in the Double Glazing industry for over 20 years. You are supposed to water it down, but i use it neat, and its like when you walk into a glass door, as its that clean you cant see it, lol.
Yes, the number represents the amount of pins. So the more pins it has the faster it can process stuff. But you need to make sure you have a compatible motherboard for the chip, as you cant put a 775 chip in a 478 socket, as it has to many pins.
I'll sell you my tin for a fiver ;)
Well it rained last night (i knew the nice weather wouldnt last). But the car still looks amazing. The water beaded so well, and from the short drive to work, all of the water just ran off the car, got to work and it looked like i'd just polished it.
ballbag - I've used a cheap buffer before, and to be honest, unless they are the handheld type like a PC, they are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, as they are to big and bulky, and just make things harder if anything. You're best off saving up for a few months if you cant afford one...
The hard wax, is very hard work. And Im sure it would come up much nicer with the PC polisher, but it is far to much hard work by hand. However i bet it gives one hell of a protection when its put on properly.
The water just ran off the paint where i tested it yesterday, i was very impressed.
Well, i've been out on the car most of the day. giving it a good wash.
I used Zymol Shampoo, then dried with autoglym chamois, then polished with AG SRP, and then i started to do the car with the Hard wax (TFF WAX). I put a good layer on the roof, and it was far to tough to take off by hand...
Was over my local hardware store today, and spotted these...
I have no idea if its a good make or not, and dont really care, as i just popped out to the car and tried the hard wax on the front wing quickly, and it looks spanking. So i shall be giving the CUP a good wash, polish and wax...
I think apex springs or eibach sportlines are the ones most recommended on here. Both come in a couple of different drops i think, of 40mm and 60 mm. If you want to go lower than that, then coilovers are the way to go, but cost a fair bit.
As for fitting springs yourself, its an easy job, if...
Ditto, i cant see it either. My CUP is a 52 on 46k, and i cant even seem to get £6500 for it! And its been advertised at just over that for the last 3 weeks in autotrader, and i havent had one single call!
Yeah thats fine, as long as it works ok with a different car.
Because as i understand it, ECU's are programmed to the car, and the keys (immobiliser/alarm etc)
So just plugging in a different one wont work.
Basically my mums car - Mondeo ST24 - R plate
is buggered. It wont start. It ticks over but wont actually start.
We got it to ford and they said its the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) which after my brother spoke to them turns out to be what they call the ECU.
They want silly amounts of...
