The plugs under the seat are disconnected and switched off in clip. The driver airbag is not wired in and also switched off. Not sure about the passenger airbag wiring, but I turned it off in Clip too....
Hello. I've seen a few cars with the much nicer looking gloss black plastics for the door handles and other controls on the 182's. Is this an off-the-shelf option or does one need to do it oneself?
The crappy peeling and easily scratched soft rubber on the OEM stuff is looking grim now.
Thanks...
Hello everybody.
My name is Dan and I have a Clio Williams, which I've owned for about six years. I've had quite a few Renaults since learning to drive in the 90's:
Renault Clio RT 3 door (was less than 30k miles)
Renault Clio 1.8 16v Mk1 Ph1 in Tungsten (about 30k miles as well)
Renault 5...
Car: 2004 Renault Clio 182 FF Cup Pack
Symptoms:
Low idle
Hesitation
Poor power delivery
Kangerooing
Waffle:
I picked the car up about 4 weeks ago knowing it needed a dephaser and cambelt change as it sounded like a diesel. Parts and tools ordered.
It also had a poor idle and was too low at...
Hai!!!!!
I wonder if anyone has a pic of the wiring under the skuttle panel near the washer bottle please? Apparently there is a plug back there that can get wet and cause idle issues. It feeds through to the bulkhead on passenger side.
Typically, I had all that apart yesterday fixing stuck...
Would I be correct in saying, due to the difference between the cable throttle system, and the 182 wireless throttle control, there is no ISCV on the 182? Or separate TPS? Just a throttle body housing with a little motor in it to operate the butterfly...?
Ok, did cambelt. Locked cams. Locked crank at TDC based on piston 1 (took a while), replaced dephaser, new belt on, tensioned up, tightened everything up, aux belt on, tensioner on (pain in ass).
Hand cranked engine on crank bolt, clockwise, all fine.
Also during the work I put new spark plugs...
So, picked up a 182 a couple of weeks ago. Very loud dephaser and after 400 miles it's misfiring badly too.
So I get the tools and cambelt and depahser. Strip it down (lots to take off it seems to me? Mk1 easier) engine jacked up, check TDC, fit locking tool at the back of the cams.
First...
Do they come with a top hat mount or do you have to use OEM ones?

All the pics I have seen show no top hat thing for these.
I am picking up a Clio 182 this weekend as my daily car after the M5 got totalled.
It is a FF Cup chassis car.
I'm looking to fit some different alloys, probably 15" 2118's, but I am wondering at the tyre size options. Is it the 172's that use the 195/50's or do 182's run these normally as...
I've had some 500lb springs made for my Williams by Faulkner Springs for my KW v2 coilovers. I find, although they are comfy, the springs are a bit lame. I know others think they are a bit too soft too.
Will update with my findings in a while when I fit them tomorrow :)
Anyone else find their KW V2's too soft and not good at handling sudden inputs (i.e. too much roll)?
Great kit, but just a tad...mild?
Wanted more for £950 tbh. Dont want to pay £160 for harder front springs.
KW have asked me to complete a report for them regarding my issues, but I...
I like the quality, but for me the KW V2's are too soft, allowing too much roll when on the case. The spring poundage does not match the higher damper settings very well. This is made worse with my new tyres, which I don't like as the sidewall sucks (AD08's) even with higher tyre pressures.
I...
I have KW V2's on my Williams, damper hand height adjustable, with slot for camber adjustment too.
They come with helper springs. Whilst these are nice and all for pootling about, I find they give too much initial 'play' in quick corners, so it roles too much.
With previous suspension...
