Anyone had fun with the NHS Dumfries and Galloway ransomware attack? 3TB of data is about to drop apparently. That is some breach! https://www.theregister.com/2024/03/28/nhs_scotland_cyberattack/

Citrix went live last week. Users still using old legacy citrix after communications. Had to swing an axe and remove groups now. Typical lazy users.

Found a bolt in the engine bay. Let’s play “where does it go?”

Number 11 yes. Looks similar to mine and that is flanged. You should be able to see it without taking the slam panel off or feel for it.

Found a bolt in the engine bay. Let’s play “where does it go?”

Did you ever change the alternator? As that looks identical to mine, based on where it landed, could well be as its in its proximity. Bottom bolt goes from engine side to the outside of the alternator.

Plan is to scrap 499 of them with a move to windows 11. So its fresh and easily rationalised. Either way, my Citrix implementation is going ahead Monday - Friday rollout of 1000+ users. Hurrah. Azure madness ensues.

Today i ran into GPO madness. This business has 500+ GPOs. Its brilliant trying to find the one interrupting what is going on. Even RSOP and GPO Result is saying "Good luck."

Funny i had to deal with them last week for this exchange stuff. Imagine not allowing users to add office365. They have to do it manually on the background and then it shows as a tick box. Weird.

I dont see the logic at all, carve out the whole profitable business, cut everyone out and go direct. Makes sense, but its an awful mess.

Did a decent wee job this week. Decom of a 2016 exchange, creation of a third 2019 DAG Node, 8 DAG dbs synced, creation of a Hybrid Server to O365, single certificate transport rules done. (Company is slowly adopting office365 ad such but its about 6 months away). Reverse proxy and full exchange...

GPOS taking ages to actually push down onto the vads. Then inconsistencies of the vads showing policies. Im sure Azure Conditional Access is kicking in for the office apps, so just implemented a shared token to fix that if possible.

This company is HUGE too. So yes. They are moving from colo to Azure. Saving around 150k a year doing it on azure too. Mental money for a small system for 3rd parties.

Currently implementing a Citrix via Azure VMs. What a interesting project its turned out to be. GPOS are a disaster and unreliable at times it seems with domain joined azure vms. How annoying Microsoft and Citrix.
