I got iLife 08 mainly for the new version of iPhoto. I've got thousands of photos on my computer and the way to organise them into events is a blessing from the sky. It makes it much more easy to organise your photos. There is a nice guided video tour on the Apple website...

I would say iPod if your primarily using it as a music player with the occasional video.

In my experience the volume on the ringtones is not that soft, but maybe that's because I hate loud ringtones. If find the poor battery life one of the biggest problems of the phone.

I've driven a 197 once. But it was a RHD car and I'm only used to driving LHD cars, so I was really fiddling with the gear shift, so I can't really give them a good comparison until I've driven a LHD version.

With a lot of motorway miles it's about 30 MPG in my 172 mk2 but during the week it's mostly short distances in town for me and than it's about 23 MPG.

I love my 172, it's the most fun car I've ever driven. The only thing I can't get used to are the interior rattles.
