In 6 months we've had two new tyres, belts and tensioners changed at a cost of £54, not forgetting an additional £60 in exhaust repairs. To be honest I think when you spread the cost of running a 182 over the course of a year they're good value. £600 in 6 months not including tax doesn't sound...
Was it advertised on Autotrader? I saw an HT53 on their website recently. That looks soooo tidy! If you don't mind me asking how much was it? I'm in the market for one and need an idea of what they're selling for. :)
In my opinion FWD cars have more character to them when being driven hard, I love 182 handling but have never driven a trophy to experience the advantages of the trick suspension.
Personally I am yet to find any RWD car that makes me want to go out and buy one, although they have advantages...
I would recommend a Zetec-S anyday, just go for a phase 2 with lower mileage as the bottom end is stronger.
Check the oil and ask the owner how often he has to top it up, if it's low on oil walk away- listen for a noisy bottom end too they're prone for breaking.
Through corners in a Zetec-S...
It looks in good condition from the outside, give it a good claying session and a few coats of meg's with a wax glaze- perfecto!
I'd lower it 20mm and "maybe" treat it to some turini's. Happy days! :)
As diesel don't legally need to have a cat, you would be better of de-catting if you want quick results on a budget. Long-term you should be getting in touch with tuning companies about a specialist map to get the optimum from your car.
Just to avoid any confusion- diesels can have the cat...
Its the same shape as the phase 1 172 in blue with 70k and Renault service history up to 60k it needs a service to keep fsh. Its got 12 month MOT and 12 month TAX and has 2 lady owners from new. It also had a new cat back exhaust (std) and had a top end rebuild at 62k.
Its got a few light...
Oil and oil filters dont effect an mot, I just wondered if maybe there were any faults that these are prone to.
A general check of wearing components such as brakes and suspension and that sort of stuff might be an idea
My girlfriend has a 1998 Clio 1.2 with 63,000 on it.
Its been stood for a year almost and just need a bit of advice on what is needed for an ''average'' car of this age come MOT time.
She will be taking her test soon and I want to get it ready for her, I just need to prepare for the wallet...
Sorry, I dont have any pictures its just a standard basic thing tbh anyways!
I've give it the basic once over just wondered if there is anything I should look out for.
The washer jets dont work and I think its the electric bit, is this a common fault? Can it be fixed easy? Cheers! :)
In september last year me an my gf bought her next neighbours 1999 1.2 Clio its pretty basic with 52k, frsh and well looked after!
The best bit is it had a massive dent in passengers door where someone hit and run it in tesco and said she was offered £200 trade in so we could buy it for...
