My power steering only worked when it felt like it, turned out to be an earth cable that went to the NSF strut top - cleaned it up and PAS was alright after that

Best advice would be to get a drive in one, it will sell itself
Its quite common for the Recaros to squeek, something to do with the subframes. Gets fixed under warranty.
Awesome car to drive, handling is spot on for B roads - can un pin the dampers if you wish so you can adjust how hard/soft they are
You just need to brace yourself for all the Trophy...
When you say UJ joint are you referring to the UJ on the end of the steering column where it joins the rack?
Sounds like a possible CV joint is worn mate, they make a clicky knocking noise when on a full lock
