I've just bought a std backbox from renault cheltenham for £110. I painted all the welds though to try and prevent it dropping off AGAIN in 20k miles!
The stealth from k-tec is alot more expenise because it's a cat back s/s system. Depends how long your going to keep the car tbh
I'm going to do an oil change on my 172 at the weekend. I've got a trolley jack and two axle stands to jack the front of the car up but then the car will not be level. Is it necessary to have the car level or is the sump plug at the back which will allow all the oil to run out??
Cheers

I'm with bell too. They got my reg wrong so had to get docs changed. They were also slightly dearer (£5 or so) than what they had quoted me previously. Can see how they fd yours up mate. Keep on at them they seem pretty incompetent tbh. They obv employ monkeys so they can give cheap insurance!!
Took a chunk out of the sidewall of my front left tyre today:mad: . I peeled back the flap and i couldnt see any beading. Is the tyre def knackered or useable?
Cheers
I used to have a focus 1.8lx, cheap running costs but the handling was shocking. I suspect the zetec's handling is better though! The golf is a way nicer car to be in also.
Was behind a cliosprt stickered 172 ph2 today about 12.45ish, we were behind in a passat repmobile. Glad he burned us off cos the guy i was with thinks 172s are s**t, he soon shut up! Last bit of reg BOO!! Any ideas??
F1's came 1st EVOs tyre poll, which was based on wet and dry handling lateral g, best lap times, acceleration, braking etc. The p zero nero's (which i've got) came 6th but rated well in the wet.
To be honest though they're probably both good tyres and you wouldn't notice much of a difference!!
Really impressed with Autoglym extra gloss protection. I just washed it with AG shampoo and conditioner and used one coat of egp. Recommend it for anyone wanting an easy to apply winter sealant.
