One of mine is stripped. Mechanic suggested helicoiling which I think is basically tapping a new thread as you said in your post. As long as youve got two good bolts holding it on though it wont go anywhere
Very simple. I've replaced the lower inlet and have put the fuel rail back in but its not full of petrol since its been off the car. Do I just plug the fuel line back in and start the car and the air in the rail will get pushed clear. Or do I need to top the rail up first to get the air out...
Epic bump but before I found this guide I found a youtube video by K-tec which shows all the relevant removal steps as part of an bodies install video, think its pretty tidy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGor6nlcSnA&feature=c4-overview&list=UUOK1TukE1IMv1_FvX4rai6w
Right so
Key in the ignition and turn in so all the lights come on, then go out one by one. Turn the key the last click to start the engine and nothing happens, engine doesn't turn over, just the lights on the display dim and go out like the battery is dead. Try to turn the key a few times...
Get it to a garage mate. There's a decent renault place in gloucester http://www.tradensave.net/ take it in there and i'd imagine one of their lads will be able to diagnose it quickly enough.
If it's your dephaser then thats a belts off job to sort and even if it's not the dephaser there's...
Thats not a shagged dephaser is it? Hard to tell but it sounds like a tracktor which is usually the sound of a shagged dephaser. Get on youtube and search on clio dephaser see if the examples sound like yours.
If it is a dephaser (cant believe how may times i've types the word dephaser) it...
Cool reckon i'll give it a serious look. Prospeed are just down the rd in Cardiff and from the work he's done keeping the existing exhaust going I owe Charlie the work I reckon so will see what he thinks.
My wheels looks like complete s**t lol. Curbed to f**k and back by me as well. Cheaper to...
I change my mind daily about turinis. Think they look amazing, then meh, then amazing. Think the boggo 172 wheels, when mint really suit the car. Plus i would ruin a set of turinis in a week with my, got to be tight to the curb obsession
Cheers dude it is an awesome colour :o) esp when its clean. Why so against the 182 exhaust? Sadly i inherited a powerflow piece of junk with the car and the next job is to replace it. Got one bumper cut out so perhaps not as subtle as it should be so a big part of me things a nice looking twin...
Not after a change as such. but have always had a hankering for a 182 but mainly for the twin exhausts and you can do that easily enough on a 172 so its not a reason to change the car. But do fancy just a touch more performance hence thinking about ported manifold, cams and a remap. keep the car...
Just curious. My ph2 172 is on 95k (bought it at about 78k and did belts, aircon delete and v6 induction almost immediately at JMS).
Love driving it, still pulls well, epic fun to drive (pms strut brace and solid top mount and rear arb) but have been thinking about a new car, spent weeks...
Not a bad plan but I'd have nowhere to stick the camera as you can't see the car from our house. Plus its bound to be some scum bag with no job so even if they got caught they'd not have any money to pay for the work. Had half a mind to put the windows through on the flats facing the car but...
Absolutely fuming myself. The old girl is considerably less so. Could really do with smashing someone about the head with a cricket bat.
Guess its off to the body shop then.
Yep cops were called and banged on the door of the flats it was outside but no response.
Cops weren't much help really but will knock some doors. Not much else they can do I guess really
So wifes car was parked on street on the rd adjacent to ours. Just been out and the whole car has been keyed to f**k. This is the worst side. Bonnet has 3 big deep scratches and the other side is not far off being as bad as the picture.
No idea who or why, no run ins with anyone or anything...
Ahh well this Scorpion is 2.125 so a bit narrower than my powerflow. Have had Charlie @ Prospeed look at the powerflow when he sorted out some mounts and the manifold kit and he swore when he walked under the car, called the mounts 'an abortion' and said the exhaust is s**t and has had to weld...
Have read on here and been told that 2.5" is the ideal diameter for the exhaust pipe. Have seen a decent looking scorpion system 2nd hand for not much and was thinking about buying it, but looking at the Scorpion site the pipe is 2.125". Is this going to 'strangle' the power noticeably? I can't...
Ahh i see so just the scorpion back box in effect. think i'm gonna opt for pro-speed and get the whole thing done by someone who knows what they're doing. Cheers for the info
Is it the same pipe diameter as the 172 single pipe exhaust I.e. 2.125 inches? Been looking at a scorpion but was told by prospeed and read on here the 2.5 inch pipe is optimum so unsure about what dropping from the 2.25 powerflow piece of crap I have now, to a narrower pipe...
If yours is 2.125...
Not sure he was going to change his mind when due to pick up the car the next day. He then qualified he isn't interested in a Leon so why persist with the 'buy a different car' comments?
Just about every thread where someone comes on and has, for whatever reason, decided to buy a Clio sport...
