I have a 172 Cup with Recaros currently fitted, I plan to put the original cloth seats back in and move the Recaros on.
My question is... What wiring should my original seats have? do the standard seats have an airbag? or will it just be the pre-tensioner that needs installing?
My Ph1 has been on the driveway collecting dust for a few months, MOT tomorrow so giving it a quick look over. Driverside brake light is constantly on (when lights turned on) I've cleaned terminals but still on, ideas?
Still not solved, its been parked on the drive for a while as I picked up a bargain PH2. mine seems fine when cold but plays up when warm, that said a very very odd thing did happen.........its revved to 2k and I thought I'd have a quick look under the bonnet. as I removed the plastic engine...
Car starts and ticks over nicely, no problem when revving in neutral.
If driven gentle, all seems ok.
The problem starts when I try to put my foot down a bit, big hesitation at low rpm, under 2k, then takes off and drives fine higher up the rev range.
Other posts lead me to the coil pack/leads...
Can someone confirm the length of the 172 aircon Aux belt please, I have a non gen part 1660mm long but Mechanic informs me it should be 1662mm? Cheers
I was sure it was dephaser as no rattle over 2k and drives ok but since the link to the steering im starting to think its Aux related. I hope it is as previous owner had cam belt replaced 4k ago and a cheap aux and tensioner change will keep the budget right down and make it a proper bargain motor.
Thanks Mick, I'll get my spanners man to do it as I'm a pen pusher!! Does my theory sound likely to you? Not sure how steering could effect it if its the dephaser? Thanks for your trusted input

I've tried giving it a tap but it just settles back at 2k. Can't see any damage to cable at throttle body end and seems to move freely, just can't work out why its only when its up to temp
It idles around 1k whilst getting up to temp, drives well and idle is steady. As soon as its fully up to temp it hunts between 1 & 2k then settles at 2k. A quick turn off and on and it idles just below 1k. As soon as throttle is added it hunts again. I've checked hoses etc and they all seem ok...
UPDATE. throttle body cleaned, car now starts and idles nicely whilst warming up........... Once warm idle has mind of its own and tends to settle at about 2k rpm. ICV and MAP sensor will be checked but any other areas I should be looking at?? Cheers
Car will turn over and start but it rumbles into life rather than a nice crisp start up. Then will not idle, revs just drop straight out. This has happened a couple of times recently but a quick off and on and it would be fine. I have just replaced the battery if that gives any clues. Any info...

Trying to get my exclusive in good shape, been offered Ktr stealth s/s at good price. The question is does this cover ph1 and ph2? As mild steel version has option for ph1 and ph2 on Ktr website, it's coming off a ph2 but don't want to part with the cash if its no good to me

I had this prob, had a cv gaitor replaced and it solved it. then traction control light would come on when i sat at about 70mph, replaced brake pedal switch, both times came to about £80 via stealers
i was under warranty, sweet.
