As expected, got to the point where i was low on fuel and had to fill up on normal as the garage didnt have super. Car ran ok but i put super in when at the next garage just incase. Does anyone know if running 95 on the ron 98 ecu cal will cause any problems?
Hi all, currently trying to source a used rear ABS sensor for my 172. Mines on an 02 so doesnt have ESP. What i need to know is will putting one from a 172 or 182 with ESP matter despite mine not having it? Cheers
i have now been told i need new discs, an abs sensor and a hub restoring (as opposed to shelling out for a new one) £260. Does this sound about right? £57 + VAT for an abs sensor i thought they were much less than this? The garage are still refusing to admit any liability and say theres no way...
As far as i know Fred yes though i would need to confirm
The thing is, how do i go about proving what is a manufacturers fault and what is an incorrect fit.
thanks for your replies. Having spoken with the garage they have said that the discs i supplied already had the bearings pressed (which i thought was the case). They have said the bearing collapse was due to the disc being manufactured incorrectly. Is this a common occurence? The problem being...
Anyone? All i need to know is if the only bearings in the rear are those which are pressed with the brake discs. As if they are then its the garages fault that theyve collapsed
About 3 weeks ago i had rear pads and discs fitted. To cut a long story short on Sunday i ended up getting towed back home due to the rear wheel bearing colapsing.
What i need to know is are the wheel bearings seperate on the rear i.e. is there bearings in the discs AND on the rear wheel? As i...
not from what i could tell but would have to check with her.... just seemed to be in the low revs in low gears..... then once you got goin it seemed to go
not on my clio but the girlfriends punto. Once the engines warm its ok. Its not been serviced in about 2-3 years! Would the problem indicate a change of spark plugs? Cheers
Ive got a 172.... paid £50 for a 2nd hand alternator, and the garage did me the fitting at £80...... Theres no way id pay £400 to the Stealers mate! especially when yours aint got the aircon to mess about with!
I would definatly recommend them! Feels like a different car....
Henk - i have heard about the revs being able to redline at 7500 rpm. Is there a calibration file to do this?
Got mine set up over the weekend, i have to say am very impressed.....
i am just wondering what the best set up to use is? Im on CB1N and currently have:
6500_5404.rst
and
6500_5404_WEB_RON98.cal
Is this the best combination? Ive heard of the group N map..... what file is this on the site tho?
Cheers have read about these....
Im wanting the rev limit upped and more torque in lower revs. Is this a good map to use for them?
i am a little worried about screwing up the ECU... plus my car has done 70k so should i be limiting things a little due to its age?
After months of waiting i have finally got my hands on one of these.
I know there are hundreds of threads already but after having a big hunt thru, what i want to know simply is.....
The only mod i have is an induction kit (Pipercross Viper)
What would be the best map to use for this?
Cheers...
My brakes have just turned up. I need to get discs and pads fitted all round, front braided lines and brake fluid changed. Whats an approximate cost for doing these? (the rear brakes are genuine renaults with the bearings already pressed). I can probably get the fronts done thru a mate, so in...
The jokers that call themselves recovery people told me they would be 90 minutes! So i got a friend to jump my car, left it charging for 10 minutes (i was only 15 minutes away from home) and got the car back. Would this indicate that its the alternator if the battery has been able to gain enough...
thanks for the responses guys. to my knowledge the battery hasnt been changed from the original (its an 02 plate). I take it the first step is to get a new battery tried? would the RAC be able to tell me if the battery has gone?
also incase its related..... in the days previous to this, the stop and battery light would randomly flash whilst driving, but i thought this was to do with a loose wire under the seat as i often get that with the abs light and when wriggling the wires around under the seat the light goes off.
Last night I tried starting my 172, lights etc came on but when turning the ignition all I got was a clunking sound. I jump started it and left it running for 5 minutes or so. All seemed ok….. then about 5 minutes into my journey, things started to die!! Firstly the cd player switched off...
