I had Faulkner springs on the b14s but I went with a longer and softer spring think it was 250lb. Perfect for the road.

I personally preferred the handling of my 172 cup on B14's (on softer springs for the road) than the Trophy on the Sachs.

Renfort plate is easiest solution. Had no issues with mine once fitted

I have tried a few different springs on my road rally clio. I personally find 250lbs fronts spot on, they were a massive improvement over the 350lbs I had beforehand.

Try the starter motor, the solenoid can stick. Give it a tap with a hammer

You can fit the plate with the box in situ, its a fairly straight forward job and does away with the circlip. Thats what i did, save removing the gearbox which is a pain of a job.

I have faulkner springs on my b14's. Have a look at jjc, they do a wide range of length/rates.
