Had a good thrash round Curborough today, first time there and first proper test of the quaife too which was working well.
Heres one of the cleaner runs where i didnt hit any cones.
Would have had a decent result if it wasnt for all the penalties, but was having too much fun! [emoji1]
Got a knocking noise which feels like its coming from somewhere in the transmission. Happens at low speeds when on and throttle, pulling away from stationay and also if you touch the brakes.
Feels like their is play somewhere in the drive - diff, shafts? Had it up on the ramp this morning and...
Dusted off the old Nikon and had a trip to Oulton today, was bitterly cold so didnt have the camera out for long.
Quite a few clios there.
Here are a few.
Had a fantastic day last Sunday competing in this charity targa rally at Throckmorton Airfield.
It was held to raise money for a young lad called Robbie who suffers from many health issues and severe cerebral palsy which confines him to his wheelchair.
He currently has a specialist wheelchair...
So this happened this morning as I was driving to work, driven roughly 3 miles, light braking on the main road coming into a bend and *Bang*
Discovered the caliper had literally split in half. No obvious signs of why this happened, cant see any cracks.
Changed the pads not long ago but cant...
Got one of these ordered, just wondering if anyone has any advice or tips on fitting it. (Box is not coming out as its only just gone back in)
Thanks in advance
Recently had a new box, clutch and flywheel fitted, last night the clutch all of a sudden slipped badly while pulling away in 1st, it then lasted about half a mile before i lost drive. All gears can be selected and the engine revs ok. If you release the clutch while in a gear you just get a...
First time I have had coilovers so got a couple questions on setting them up properly. I Fitted the Bilstein's this weekend and had a play with ride height, I want it sitting quite high as its a road rally car so need some decent ground clearance. However I found the higher you wind the collar...
Found out today the bilstein rear shocks have a different thread to the standard shock. The nut was slightly too big for them, can anyone confirm what size/type of nut fits the thread so I know what to get.
Thanks.
As per title I am looking at getting height adjustable coilovers, namely the bilstein b14s. Got standard shocks and springs at the moment and would like more ground clearance. How high will the car sit on the b14s on their highest setting compared to the standard setup.
Thanks Ed.
Thought I would treat the 172 cup to some autoglym polish today. After one year of ownership the paintwork has been somewhat neglected as my efforts have been put towards getting it mechanically prepared.
It still needs a lot of attention, I basically ran out of time as I was doing other bits...
The interior clock and heater/fan controls do not light up when the headlights are switched on. Having said that if you look really hard it is lit up just really really dim. Oh and all other interior lighting is ok dials/hazard switch panel etc
Any ideas?
I am after the flange off a 182 cat, is their anywhere where I can hold of one of these?
I just need the flange end to weld onto my 172 cat to link the 182 manifold to 172 exhaust.
Thanks.
So heres what the clio looked like this morning after last nights rally which was a tad on the wet/muddy side. But dont worry folks will give her a good clean tomorrow :)
Clio 172 ph2 has been sat on my drive about 3 weeks, started this afternoon no problem at all, drove 3 miles to my destination. Jump in to go home and it wont start. Turn on ignition ok, go to crank the engine and nothing all you get is a single click from the relay. Someone suggested it may be...
So this month I'm planning on fitting a 6 point cage to the Clio.
Had a look on tweeks and they do a sparco bolt in for around 600 which seems OK
What other choices are there to consider? Any recommendations?
