well i suppose its possable if the stock item is poor, but i would be supprised.
i cant see how to increase gas speed, whilst also increasing flow...
same goes for cams, you generally loose somewhere to gain somewhere else,
runner length i would say. couldnt really have the same runner length without going over the top of motor.
general rule of thumb is short/fat runners give better gas flow (i.e high rpm hp)
long/narrow runners give higher gas speed (better for low end...
thats a fair price really, OE is never cheap. my only problem would be if it wore very quickly again as you mention, i would be a bit upset then, hmmmm
lol alright dude, long time no see :) ive joined your gang it would seem ;)
yeah seen the re-trims, that will be my fall back if i cant get new tbh, but im a sucker for OE.
aftermarket, yuck!
I have done one before, only 8 valves too, so a little simpler/cheaper/quicker than a 16v motor. the pistons are very heavy duty, so chance that you have damaged them is slim, which is good :)
so 8 valves, and a cambelt kit, and only single cam, so again, simple to time up.
i would get the...
not really, as you should still rotate a few turns by hand before attempting to start, in which case if it was wrong, you would almost certainly spot it then.
was gonna say, just pull the head off 1st before buying a complete motor, if the bottom end is fine, just drop the head at at engineers for new valves, then re-fit with a full belt kit.
work out much cheaper, and you also know that the motor has had the belt/tens done. by the time you have...
hmmm,i tried that with no joy, hence removing the alternator.
i suppose it depends how far up you jack the motor.
either way, its not exactly a big job to remove the alternator...
i had a similar fault on a renault 5 once, i would not of thought the gearbox was at fault.
when your revving to 5k and the clutch starts to engage, try to release the clutch a tiny bit, see if it stops.
i.e you have too much travel on the pedal, and the pressure plate spring forks are making...
fair nuff :)
didnt think they would let you see the maps. but still, adding fuel has minimal effect, in comparison to adding ignition, which can have a big effect ;)
surely it must just of increased ignition timing on the map a little, as messing with fuel makes very little differance to hp/tq.
does anyone have the ignition map to look at? even better, would be the stock ig map, overlayed onto the rs tuner map
or do they not release that sort of data? i...
