Right new development guys so my Mechanic apparently took it to a separate MOT center, and they were the ones that said it made a "right racket" and stopped, when trying to start it it wouldst turn over.They were the ones that said suspected cam belt snap. So my mechanic since then has towed it...

He's an indipendent mechanic and a family friend that use to work for Renault, and later went solo. He didn't offer anything he just said he's not too sure what to do, he could open it up to assess the damage, then charge me to get told it's knackered, or try sell it for parts or scrap etc.

I got it done at Birchdown, and they were done at around 50,000 it now has 70,000.. i bought it in 2011 for 3k so not sure its worth much now plus it's not in the best antithetical condition neither..

So, i took my beloved 182 to have it's MOT today and my mechanic told me that whilst it was being tested the engine just seized up, he told be that it looks like the cam belt had snapped, he said due to the nature of the damage it would probably cost more to repair than the cars worth. So what...

So I have previously had a problem with my blowers not coming on at all, this was due to the transistor in the resistor pack, which was sorted. Now i cant turn the bloody thing off!! Full blast heat, and cant turn it down or off! (luckiness it's winter) Is it the same process again? Many Thanks!!

bump all the liquid from the coolant reservoir is now disappeared once again! Am i safe to drive the car if i top the coolant up? thanks..

Having both rear disks fitted by halfords, my mechanic has since discovered that there was no spacer fitted between the disk and the axel, causing rubbing of the axel and my abs sensor (abs been faulty for a while) so now I'm going to sew the hell out of halfords!

Just to update this thread, it's peeing water once warm and there's a rather dodger rattle noise coming from the left hand side of the engine bay (if your stood directly in front of the car) is this the water pump that's dodgy? I've been given a quote of £220 decent?

To clarify if you put your head directly under the bumper it would be to your right in lign with the front of the right tyre.

slightly infront and to the left of the nearside front tyre :S

I checked and no then i tried unscrewing the lid to have a look and loads bubbled up and steam shot out so there must be some in there? do i need coolant?

So my 182 has about 68k on the clock and it had its timing belt and aux done down at Birchdown on around 50k, and recently i've noticed a leak i think its a red-ish orangey colour. So I'm getting the cam belt, aux belt and dephaser pulley done with labour for £780 from Renault @ Bradford.. I think it sounds like a decent price ??
