The 1.2 16v engine suffers from having an absolutly rediculously designed intake system coupled with the fact the renault 16v engines breath very heavily and have a poor oil breather design.....oil and general gunk builds up in the lengthy intake system that could circle the world if layed out...

deffinetly need to change that coil pack they are prone to going on most cars very designs especiallt pencil coils like on the renault sports.......get some very long nose pliers just pop down to baq or halfords they should do the trick or 2 flat bladed screwdrivers either side of the plug...

It may just be that its more apparent when the engine is cold not when it has warmed up.......does it hesitate when driving and accelerating or even decellerating??

if its leaking from reservoir area and theres no servo assitance deffinetly need to change the brake master cylinder and servo unit

sounds like the coil pack to me hesitant acceleration, rough idle, hunting for revs, cutting out now and again these are all signs of a faulty coil pack or leads also check spark plugs there often neglectid on a service or just in general but it deffinetly sounds like a ignition system problem!

With anything like this i would start by just going around the engine bay and battery cleaning all earths of rust and dirt and then coating them in vaseline (petroleum jelly) as it sounds like a bad earth issues to me and also just check all fuses and relays are working as a matter of course......
