It turns out the cat was not getting warm enough as I have a sports cat. So a drive of a few miles at 50-60 warmed it up enough and when tested again the car passed.
I had the same problem with mine for the mot, turns out the testing station did not get the cat hot enough before the test. So a quick drive round at 50 in 4th solved the problem and she passed. I do have a 200cell sports cat not the standard one.
I have run the new Shell Nitro+ and didn't notice any difference in the car compaired to the Tesco 99 Ron fuel. If I have to put 95 Ron in there for the get me home bit then I do notice the difference when putting the right foot down hard.
End of the day use what you have always used and be...
As far as I remember the RSTuner maps are encrypted and you cannot read them off the car. You might be able to with a different piece of kit, but you can always just put the new map over the top of the existing map
Can anyone help me out with VMWorkstation 9? I am having a problem with getting NAt to work. My host machine is on 172.16.200.0 255.255.255.0 network and I need to setup my virtuals on a 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 network but I need them to have internet access.
I setup nat on the vm machine...
I am working on a project like this at the moment, moving from Physical to VM's and from 2003. We recommended the customer go with server 2008R2 but bought 2012 licenses that allowed them to downgrade, running on ESXi 5.1.
I was reading the fault codes stored on the car with an RStuner and thought i would look at some live data, so with it still connected to the car i went to start the engine. It turned over a few times and then just stopped. The stop light came on and that was it.
Does anyone know how to get out...

I have finally got round to sorting the front of the car out, the old has gone and the new has been applied and thanks goes to Fancy Plates for making the plate.

I am slowly getting her back to her former glory.
The question is are these "performance" throttle body's any good? I have seen numerous offers for them but none of them have any proof to backup their claims.
I am not talking about throttle bodies I talking about just swapping the standard one with one of these...
The bearings feel out of one of the discs i changed, might of explained the noise and MOT fail. Important thing to note is the direction the washers come out, as one side is tapered, which goes on facing the inside of the car.
Well I am battered and sore after trying to get at and tighten the bolts and find that they are all tight. It turns out the the movement in the seat was solved by tightening up the front bolt behind the plastic panel on the side of the seat.
I have been trying to find the locations of the bolts that hold the front seats in but not for looking I can not find them all. The ones near the out side edge of the car are under the rubber grommets but the inner ones are eluding me. Can anyone give me some markers or pointer to where to look...
Is it possible to put the headlight bulb in the wrong way round? As the car failed the MOT on the Nearside headlight aim too low and the guy at the garage said he could not raise it.
Of course I changed the bulbs to Nightbreakers some weeks ago.
Well both brake disks replaced and I didn't lose the thrust washer on either side. Tightened up to 175NM and all seams well, just need to bed everything in.
Thanks to everyone for the help and information.
Can anyone tell me the size of the socket i will need to remove the rear brake discs?
Is there anything I should watch out for when changing the discs as I am not super experienced with the spanners.
Thanks
The guy at the garage thinks it could be the cat that is the problem, I am not sure if it's an original cat or an aftermarket one.
Where the best place to get another cat from?
I recently replaced the Pre Cat Lambda, I must admit it was a bit of a sod to do so there is always the chance that I made a hash of it. Time to get the Garage to check it then. I can feel some expense coming on now.
My 182 just failed the mot due to high HCs, it has a after market air intake and a ktec exhaust system the ecu is running a rs tuner 98 Ron map.
What do I need to do to get it through the emissions test?
