    Intersting tow-out on the rear!

Noticed that my near-side near tyre was looking pretty abused, so took the car in (182) to have a look at the alignment. Found out that it's rocking 25 minutes of toe-out on that side, not exactly ideal and explains why things have been getting a bit interesting at speeds that raelly didn't...

    M8 *** Crawley

Artic ph2 stopped at the lights at the roundabout outside the Crowne Plaza. Reminded me that I really should wash mine more often!

First cold morning in ages - so my heater dies....

Control panel seems to be working ok, when I turn the temperature up/down the fan adjusts to suit. The trouble is that I get naff-all heat until the temperature is at 'max' (and probably a bit on 26 degrees). Dead matrix? Thanks, Mark

    182 Cats - more than 1 variant?

Looks like I need to replace the cat on my 182. So I've been weighing up options this evening to see about maybe getting a genuine one 2nd hand. However, mine looks like this: and the majority I've found look like: Can anyone explain what's going on? Cheers, Mark

Dark (Monaco?) "GXB" plate '16v' mk2 near Victoria Park, Glasgow

The start of Victoria Park South on the back of an AA truck having just been recovered. Nice work smashing the concrete barrier just after the kink!

Now I know cold 1*2s run rich/sluggish but...

..... pops n bangs when I still have 2 silencers and my cat installed?? Goes away after 30s to a minute, but it's starting to get me a bit concerned. Any likely causes worth looking into? Cheers, Mark

Mintex wheel bearing - lasted 8 months??

Anyone else had any issue with these? Got the discs and bearings changed on the 182 at the end of October last year, now it's droning away all the bloody time (99% sure it's the rears, certainly sounds like it's coming from there but no heat or anything being generated). Could there be any...

    Trophy heading towards Peebles yesterday

Anyone off here? At a guess you'd just left Glentress, heading towards Peebles at around half 1. Not sure I'm brave enough to hang the bike off the flimsy boot lid myself! I was coming the other way in a bright red Vito so you wouldn't really have noticed. Cheers, Mark

    Red 197 - Glasgow M8 Eastbound 2pm today

EK07 ***, nice enough that the missus found another excuse for us to make the 182 a track car and have a 197 daily ;)

V6 on Crow Rd/Balshagray Ave Glasgow this morning

Spotted at the lights heading down to the tunnel/expressway, I was in the Arctic Blue 182 turning right to go in the same direction......... suddenly feeling massively inadequate ;)

    Self-clearing faults?

So the car's due to head into the garage tomorrow, probably to get the upstream lambda sensor replaced, as the fault light has a habit of coming on for various lambda related issues. However, after being on since Sunday the fault light has now decided to go off. I'm figuring that one of three...

    Boot lid panel gap

Does 5-6mm on each side seem excessive to anyone else? Enough that you can slot in 2 £1 coins side by side, with about 5mm of play when you push/pull on the handle. No leaks, which is good, just seemed a bit excessive This is on a 182 which had an unbelievably annoying squeak from the boot...

Exhaust mounts - a straw poll

First things first, my rear mounts are knackered so need sorting one way or another. What's the general consensus on the best approach though? There seems to be 3 ways of thinking from what I can see: 1. Replace with more standard units, suck it up and change them fairly often. 2. Replace with...

    182 Rear discs + eBay

Evening all, I knew when I bought my car last week that the rear discs were shot, so luckily this is planned maintenance! I've got a good mechanic mate to change them (means I don't need to buy the 175Nm torque wrench!) but I'll get hold of the discs and pads. A quick trawl of the internet...

Hello! Finally got my 2 litres of fun!

Hello everyone, after struggling to sell my previous (grown up, boring) car, I've finally picked up this little piece of fun :) All's good after the first 8 hours of ownership, one or two wee bits needing tidied at some point but otherwise just great fun! Cheers, Mark
