Sorry to bring this old thread up but I have this same problem and not really sure what I should do. Mine wouldn't start saying flat battery but its not flat then took the negative/ground off the battery and when I put it back on it just keeps setting the alarm every time I try to open the car...

Getting a good earth on the Clio for an amp is a massive pain in the ass.

Personally if it was my car I would try to start by diagnosing if its faulty or not, simply push it in and see if the light goes off with all other doors shut. if I am giving false information please anyone feel free to step in and correct me.

Check to make sure you haven't damaged the little door sensor that pushes in when you shut the door, this tells the car your door is shut, it may have been damaged or broken in the process
