With the 172 cup id just stick to getting one thats as standard as possible and the best you can afford. Id value good service history and in good condition rather than miles to a certain extent.
I think god ones will only go up in value as for £1500-£2000 it buys a good one. If i wasn't about...
People do trust me. I see it everyday. Granted it's on cars worth 70k plus.
I will be able to sell a Range Rover for a lot more for one with full LR or known specialist history and the right tyres etc, than one serviced by Halfords and with Tesco dichfinders on.
My original point was the...
I'm not saying who has done it that makes a difference. It's the fact that it's been done that does
Or are people saying that a car without the proper history is worth the same as one with every service done on time with the cambelts done.
But the fact that it has been serviced correctly through its life does and that's my point.
People will not get it done when needed as the cars value decreases, why would you do it on a high miles 172 worth £1000 now? It's nearly the value of the car.
My 2p's worth
With maintaining a Cliosport being very expensive compared to its value
£650 for cambelt compared to say £3000 value of a half decent 182 ( not exact but bear with me).
Less and less will be maintained properly.
So low miles cars with full and proper history will be hard to find...
I think the values for sub 60,000 mile cars with the right history owners and refurbished suspension will be circa £10,000 soon.
Probably more for traders selling them retail.
Mine has got miles on it so I'm not scared to drive it and use it. But it will get to the point where people will...
if they are in a car then you can buy little cans which work through your aircon that get rid of the smell. If you haven't then fabric cleaner and leave them outside on a warm dry day.
Best tow car by far will be discovery or RR but they are expensive. I pulled a trailer with another discovery on the back yesterday with no drama. But probably best to get a manual if towing regularly. Or maybe look at an older pickup?
One thing to check is some baby seats wont fit properly in the trophy seats. Love mine and compared to my 172 its streets ahead, plus is probably worth a little more than when I bought it 18 months ago. Bear in mind the extra costs for the suspension bits when they need refurbished also. Love...
Cheers for the replys. Re internet access that's why I want to find one with iplayer installed or app downloadable and restrict access through that like I do when he has our iPad's. Looks like fire kids, or the hudl is the way to go.
Thinking of getting our son his own Tablet so he can watch BBC iplayer, watch films and play games on. He uses our ipads now but don't want to spend £250-£300 for a 6 year old to break.
What have people got for their kids?
Cheers James
@SharkyUK no probs buddy. Mines having a suspension refurb and new rear shocks so mine is about to be taken off the road unless i book a road trip for next month anyway.
Off red with Pink handles as per mine and every other one I've even seen. After this long and this much money @SharkyUK then you might as well roll the dice one more time.
Cant say for deffo until the day before but will probably come along in the trophy and bring my 5 year old son so wont be driving like a muppet.
He loves clios so will jump at the chance to see a few in the same place
When they compare they never take money into account. For £2000-£3000 is a very hard package to beat. 197-200 for some reason have never done it for me.
Ok I have got an rs tuner with air bag reset feature. Still can't turn off the airbag light. I have no rear seats now but it won't let me turn all the airbags as it shows an error with the rear left. Is there another way of getting the airbag ecu to be connected but look for no airbags and the...
I think trophy's will get an extra premium if they have the dampers etc. But what people forget is the £400-£600 bill every few years to get the sachs refurbished. Plus Clio sports are expensive to maintain properly compared to others so depends on how you view the money you put into...
Because you don't buy a v8 Monaro VXR to drive like you stole it or for 0-60 times. You buy it to have a bonkers engine and the sound when you floor it.
Who cares if its faster or slower than a French tin can or a German coupe with a blower
I will have one hopefully when I sort out my new...
