172 service advice?

  PH2 Flamer
Hi, fairly new to the forum and have recently picked up a 172 on at 52 plate off rsports. The car is immaculate and has a fair bit of history. But nothing about dephaser.

So I'm looking to take it to a well known and respected garage so i no whats done. cambelt, auxbelt, dephaser, waterpump, oil and filter, spark plugs, fuel filter and air filter. So the whole shebang really.

Am located in Oxford, am willing to travel but not that far as I'd imagine they'd need the car a full day.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
Probably best I can reply

the FULL works

Cambelt change ( without service )

is Cambelt kit, Auxillary Belt kit- Dephaser is fitted if its rattling its t*ts off ( which it wasnt last week) or IIRC shows signs of not functioning correctly when removed from the car-
IIRC if you have the dephaser done you ideally would do a oil & filter change-

All in depending on specialist you are looking

between 400 & 600- for the belt change- Add another £175 ish for the dephaser if required-
Water pump- havent had one water pump changed on any of my 1*2's

So worst case ~£700-£850

it doesnt need a service just yet- it was serviced in October last year at SMC woking Renault-
the belts are not due just yet either- but like all owners you can get them done early for peice of mind-

location wise- you have 519 automotice in bedford / BTM in birmingham & stone motors in Chertsey....-
Not sure where Diamond motors are on here....

Yeah I see it all, and dephaser isn't rattling it's more for a piece of mind.

I may just do all the small bits myself and then get a belt service done when required.

Which one do you recommend?

At the waterpumps on these fairly reliable then?

No point spending money if there is nothing wrong IMO.

If it's not due a belt, and the dephaser isn't noisy why go to the expense of £500+ to change soemthing that isn't faulty? I'd leave it until the next belt change TBH
