Boot issue, help pretty please.

So my boot wouldnt unlock, the button was just solid even when the car was unlocked.

Replaced the mechanism thing, the mechism now moves over as it should when you lock/unlock, whereas before it just stayed in the lock position.

However.. i still cant open the boot even when it's unlocked. If i manually push the metal bar, it opens.. but when I push the button, it doesnt seem to quite push the bar enough to open the latch.. any ideas?

No but the car locked itself mid way through and I shat it because I thought the keys were inside.. thankfully they werent!!
