Bought a vel satis ....

Hi folks!
Haven't posted in a while...

Just bought a vel satis 2.0 petrol turbo like 20 min ago...
Is there much value in breaking it?
Anything the same engine/gearbox(6 speed) wise compared to 225's or 197's??

Cheers :)

Not the prettiest....
Never even seen one before a friend rang me about it.
Is the block the same as 225?
Just different turbo and pistons??

Ultra-hero buy.
Love them. I think I've seen one. Ever.
I saw one. But I saw it every day for about 10 years.
It was the directors car of the garage I worked for, then it went up for sale and the bloke at the end of my road bought it. Sick at the sight of it after 10/12 years!

Jewish racing gold, 2.2dci privilege. With no options. Manual.

What a turd.

Ugh.
I've been looking at dCi Avantimes on AutoTrader now...
Why do I want one?!

I could mentally justify myself to have an Avantime. The Vel Satis? I think that's just a step too far. Maybe.

That said, the next time I pulled into a supermarket amongst a ocean of Audi and Nissan metal - I'd like to see the reaction of the massed sheep, when I stepped out of that.

"Yep. When was the last time you saw one of these?"

Strange Hero Points awarded....

Don't they have a fancy hinge system so the doors don't actually take up any more room than any other normal car?

Edit: Yes, yes they do.
Yes, yes they do.

Do they work?

No, no they don't.

I have first hand experience of it. The seats are too far forward from the back of the door. The fancy hinge system would work if the seat wasn't 4 foot from the door opening.

I did a bit more looking the part number off the turbo is the same as a 225! So it must be just not tuned up as much .

Why would you buy something like this to break? Seems a hell of a lot of time and effort for probablt not a lot of return

Why on earth would you break it?? There's hardly any on the road.
In the nicest possible way, I think that's a very poor decision.
