To be honest I recently used a nikon D70 and I couldn't really tell any difference in my photos taken with my own 350d. I've got the battery grip for my camera and I now prefer the weight and size of my 350d to the D70. Without the battery grip the body is to small and my fingers fall off the bottom of the camera and get cramp after a while.

Yeah Nigel, just bought the BG-E3 for my 400d and the difference it makes is immense, proper nicely weighted and chunky to hold onto, plus the added bonus of being able to use normal rechargable batteries, which are so much cheaper than buying another canon battery
